Trying not to comment on the craziness of the world/politicians/media on Twitter & just post photos but keep failing...No Apology for that, will keep trying...
@SpencerHakimian A tariff is a tax on goods imported into US. Roughly 70% of the added cost from tariffs, ranging from 15%-50%+ are passed directly to American consumers & businesses. The remaining 30% adds to cost of US export goods, reducing price competitiveness. Loose/Loose! 300BLN TAX on U!
@SpencerHakimian What could go wrong add I don't know 50% or more to the price of Aluminum and make a product sold in cans then hit Brazil the second largest importer of sugar with huge tariffs and voila a can of pop costs more. A Tariff is a tax on the American Consumers, US Companies pay it!
@MarkJCarney There isn’t a housing availability problem, it’s an affordability problem. The biggest driver? Government fee grabs. On top of that, developers cover all services, parks, external upgrades, hydro connections, and even securities. last but not least cost of holding until approval!
@fordnation Should have cut rates months ago. Carney still hasn’t finished removing federal HST for first-time buyers, which should have been cut for all. There's no housing crisis, there's an affordability crisis, as housing is a multi-level government cash grab avg. 20% of the house price!
@SpencerHakimian Lutnick's nailing it with those tariffs, America is going to be so much more competitive now that it's randomly added extra 300 Billion+ in taxes to American Companies & as a result, consumers. Biggest Republican Tax increase (sorry it's a tariff on other country :-) in history!
@nypostbiz Millions of Canadians avoiding U.S. goods & travel down over 40% in some areas. Billions lost, while Americans will pay $300B+ in new tariff taxes (you pay, not the other country), boosting import costs 15–50% or more & driving prices higher. Latest Jobs Report, is just the start
@PeterHRatcliffe Last Election total vote difference Liberals and Conservatives was 43.76% to 41.31% a difference of 2.45% points, so 41.31% of the voters are losers? Let alone the chances of the CBC loading up with conservatives??? As for listening, it's a key component to learning!
@billmaher WTF are you smoking? Trump has not tightened sanctions on Russia. On tariffs, equally wrong. The avg. European tariff was 1.5–3%. Under Trump, it’s now 15%. He has raised tariffs across the board from 15-50%. A tariff is a tax on Americans they pay. Russia exempt Lib Day Tariffs!
@business Add between 15-50+% to the cost of imports, sell it as tariffs on other countries, not what it really is- a tax on Amercian businesses who need the imports, who then pass the 15-50% extra on to consumers...not rocket science: $1 +.$0.15 to $0.50...is $1.15-$1.50 more expensive!
@CityNewsTO Because it is and it's bullshit and it was done primarily to supress negative articles to be shared on the Trdueau Government, it actually weakens the digital value of news media's advertising power and costs them money but was implemented under the guise of making them money.
@FT There is a lag effect to tariffs but fun fact, tariffs are a tax on goods and in this case 15-50% tax...when is the last time a good when up in price 15-50% and the company buying the good ate the increase...be ready for Q4 inflation numbers & jobs reports...
