Here we are @NewForestShow with our #peatfree trial plants. Lots of interest. We hear ‘peatlands’ were on the AQA(?) geography A-level paper this summer & students didn’t know what it meant! Oh my word; we have such a long way to go @Primageographer@Saralimback @RHSSchools
Our #plastictrashclash tree is still gaining new hoops New one from @PennInf@PatricksPatch @FairweathersGC These two child visitors from Winchester were keen to add one!
So as the horsetails take over now it’s the end of the orchids in this beautiful #Tiptoe#wildflower meadow. It took 20 years to get it like this. It’ll be mown when the Knapweed dies down ready for the fritillaries of spring.
I am currently looking for a new apprentice to join my apprentice gardener programme @chewtonglen The scheme is run in conjunction with @Sparsholt_Coll & @tweet_kmc please help spread the word. https://t.co/dMKIPJT950
Thanks for following @Greenfingerscha Good to read of your work. We maintain a tiny ‘Apothecary’ garden in stroke unit of our local hospital that we worked on today. Folk in background asked to be included in the photo. Huge thanks @FairweathersGC & @PatricksPatch. @LymoTweetUp
Book appeal!
We are holding a New Forest Fiction evening on Fri 20 Sept (https://t.co/Rlg5ncv1r4) but have gaps in our Library collection that we need help to fill. We have a wish list of 15 works (https://t.co/rzsFT8C6T5) from authors such as Mary Braddon & Dennis Wheatley.

At @Waitrose to see their “unpacked” trial to remove & reduce #plastic from our supermarket shop - really impressive. Met lots of happy shoppers who say this is what they want. Is this the future? Only if we get on board - & pressure the supermarkets to do the same. #WarOnPlastic
Cuckoo Spit - not the saliva of the bird, but in fact plant sap that has been sucked up by the nymphs of Froghoppers, then mixed with air and forced out of their bottoms to make it froth like the head of a cappuccino, protecting the young bugs from predators & dehydration.
