@slmandel The jokes comparing admin/coach movement to player movement have been simplistic and tedious for a while. Ok great, you want players to be employees. We get it.
@slmandel When the courts decided the NCAA couldn’t set the rules, this was always bound to happen. There will be more. It doesn’t feel right, but that doesn’t matter. He has a defensible legal case.
@DanWetzel@max_olson@espn This is the bed we made when we all cheered bringing lawsuits against NCAA rules. Nothing is surprising here. Very foreseeable. He doesn’t have a case against common sense, but he does have a legal case.
@Clowfb Cute. You think these athletes are taking tests? When was the last one ruled “academically ineligible”? Because that actually used to be a concern. No more.
@slmandel They’re not doing this to enforce rules better. They’re doing this because they don’t need the other conferences. All SEC fans would be quite happy if the season ended at the SEC Championship and maybe one bowl game.
@DanWolken Ending the season with the conference championships and then just playing one bowl game is a better alternative to a 24-team playoff.
I’d choose the Georgia president to run college football over Tony Pettiti.
@JeremiahDJohns@JonahDispatch It’s worse for the brazenness. But it feels similar to an EPA $2bil grant to a green nonprofit if that nonprofit goes on to accomplish nothing.
