If Nigerian leaders and her citizens learn to do the right things. Nigeria will be a great nation until then things will remain bleak and no amount of prayer will improve things. Same passangers who obeyed orders at Heathrow airport suddenly disobeyed less order at MM airport.
HM, in my opinion, you have lots of achievements in d aviation sector to put on d table, same with Achimugu. Let 2027 be issue based. Most Nigerians want to discuss details of solutions, way foward & a little of Obj verdicts, Balablue or d innuendos. Less of faith or tribes..Plss
This the the printed verdict of a boss on his subordinate: “What I did not know, which came glaringly later, was……his propensity to corruption, his tendency to disloyalty, his inability to say and stick to the truth all the time, a propensity for poor judgement, his belief and reliance on marabouts, his lack of transparency, his trust in money to buy his way out of all issues and his readiness to sacrifice morality, integrity, propriety, truth, and national interest for self and selfish interest.” Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Atiku Abubakar in his book, “MY WATCH”.
@OpeBee Ope, a contract should have clauses, termination based on non performance should be an option without penalty. If such term is not included it means the country interest is not been protected and it is an exposure.
At the launch of the two books by the outgoing Head of the Civil Service of the Federation yesterday, someone asked for my card and gave me his. It said “APC Council of Technocrats”, with Prof xyz as “Director-General.” Na so dem dey start. I put the card straight in the bin.
Kalu, this is you assuming that the price of agege bread would experience a pause or remain static if nothing was done.
How would you get FX to buy wheat?
What would be the inflation rate if we continued to print ways and means and expand the money supply?
You didn't factor Fx surge, black market reliance, run away exchange rate and dilution of currency value if nothing was done. This is an economic illusion.
Kalu you can do better.
No Govt all over d world has all the money it require to run her affairs. But a Govt should have priority projects..+ 1 or 2 contigencies. Those NASS constituencies projects should be scrapped. Let it be community managed..lots to fix tbh
@Patriotpsi Your POV is valid but are there really worst plans? The plan is always good, I believe there are worst executions & a number of factors could be responsible.
And the take on subsidy, your take is more than apt.
Worst plan is any plan that is not robust enough. for example You budget your production on 2Mbopd at 70USD. When u know your maxinum is 1.7Mbopd. A plan should have scenerios, & must be Scalable....we build infrastructures without plans to maintain.

All d presidential candidates have sources in Govt (insiders) and can obtain any data, punch d numbers & deep dive analysis. Excuse of I dont know is never tenable tbh. Obama inherited a bust.. he grew so old in 8 years fixing d problems...We should be exporting manpower..Like india. There must be a plan
Nigerians do not interogate promises, i cant renember seeing any debate btw d 1983 contenders, MKO. & Tofa had robust debate, Obj never debate with Falae, Yar adua, GEJ, PMB & PBAT. Let talk about plans let probe figures..
@Patriotpsi As much as I agree with you Sir. Execution can be earlier said than done. Every detail during promises is as good as vague until they get into power & see the realities on ground.
Don't forget, politicians could meticulous con artists & excellent orators
We never know what would have happened but MKO discussed details of his plans..& most american debates presidental debates talk about plans, figures & rigrously drilled d numbers so that empty promises will be puncture..
On execution, Projects analogues/data shows if your plan is robust, the worst of execution will get you to at worst 60%, but a worst plan when best executed can only get u to 40%. Now on subsidy..it is obvious not possible with current production, FX will crumble.

Thanks, Nigerians praising him for doing what he was appointed to do is even worse. This case is like a man ignoring a leaking roof in his house & start a foundation of a new building.
As David Umahi, Minister of Works, seems to have become so fixated on the Coastal Road project, it’s easy to wonder if the everyday roads serving millions of Nigerians are being forgotten.
When you become obsessed with one pet project that is more likely to produce sweet cakes, you risk neglecting the roads Nigerians actually use every day.
For every promises been thrown, let Nigerians ask for details. Let probe numbers. The devil is usually in the details. Lets have purpuseful interviews...no more rhetorics, real plan & details on Economics, Security & Corruptions + dat Orosanye Report.
In other words, I will promise to reverse what the present government is doing to win elections. When I win, I will do what I promised for sometime, then return the status quo.
What manner of "ante-bellum" is this?
Obama said during his visit to Cambridge that his "greatest quality as a leader" is "on every issue" to listen to argument " for" & "against". Draw his conclusions on policies before inplementation or reversal. May Nigeria Succeed.
Glad you attested to the correctness of the data.
Now to the understanding of the question, you definitely have to go back to the origin of the conversation which was the desperate attempt by our perpetual presidential candidate @atiku to disprove the true impact of the decision to remove subsidies by claiming it has only been beneficial to the governors while ignoring these data you just attested to.
Every sane person I have met knew the immediate impact those reforms would have on consumption including the prices of bread in Agege but what they also expected was the long term effect it would have on the economy including;
- Freeing up of resources for sub-nationals as mandated by the constitution.
- Investments in long-overdue infrastructure which has now given many poor people the opportunity to buy more Agege bread through direct and indirect employment
- Investment in education through NELFUND which has solved the dual challenges of ASUU strikes and access to education
- A stable economy which has led to a rise in foreign investment that would even lead to more employment opportunities thus more people affording that Agege Bread among many other impacts.
Reforms or not, what we have had is an ever-increasing inflation, albeit at a slower pace from time immemorial, partly due to inability of past leaders to fix the basics of the economy that would have led to this stability we currently enjoy.
President Tinubu will not be one of such leaders regardless of opinion from desperate and inconsistent contestants and their visionless followers.
Those sane Nigerians will speak loud and clear in January.
D.O,
Great to see we are all discussing issues, numbers figures & policies. Democracy will be deepened. We will all be involved & May Nigeria Succeed.

What Govt need to do is to educate, communicate & plead for more time & SG to expand d safety nets... "Ebi ki wo inu ki oro miran wo".mean " To an hungry man, no other messages resonate". this LC message resonate with only d elite. D message must be deeper than this.
Atiku and his ADC should listen to Muda. Most people forget where we were in 2023 and why the nation should be grateful to the Tinubu administration for implementing its audacious and necessary reforms. Without the reforms, we would have moved towards the Zimbabwe scenario.
