Our heartfelt condolences go out to the extended Hall family. Mr Hall was a gentleman, a family man, an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, a volunteer and patriot He was a proud Air Force Veteran & put service above self. He will be missed. @hallschophouse@Patriots_Point
4/16/45 75 years ago today USS Laffey came under devastating attack at Okinawa after which it became The Ship That Would Not Die. We remember the 32 who died that day & memorialized them with tree and plaque at PP. Thank you Laffey Assoc, donors & PP.
Past President of Laffey Assoc. Sonny Walker at left and current President Chris Kirhagis on right....The Laffey family continues to honor the memory of the 32 sailors who perished at Okinawa in 1945. Have you seen the memorial plaque at PP?
The 75th anniversary of the battle that earned our beloved USS Laffey the nickname "The Ship That Would Not Die," is Thursday, April 16. Did you know that Mel Gibson is currently working on a movie about the attack Gibson visited the ship a few years ago and we took this picture
Thanks to the Laffey crew and Association members who come 3-4 times a year for work parties to help maintain their ship. Please support them with a donation to https://t.co/Ocyi8myA6Q for materials they need, like steel, paint, grinding pads etc.
Battered by devastating kamikaze strikes off Okinawa in April of 1945, the crew of the USS Laffey fought heroically to save the destroyer. Nicknamed the "The Ship That Would Not Die," the Laffey serves as a reminder of how Americans persevere when faced with hardship.

National Medal of Honor Day & by proclamation in Mount Pleasant. Letโs remind ourselves of the selflessness exhibited by recipients in battle. Home of the MOH Society & Medal of Honor Museum & recipient, Major General James E. Livingston.
Each year, MOH Recipients lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to honor those who paid the ultimate price in service to their country. Today we virtually lay a wreath and commemorate all those who have fought and made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
The lessons of the Tuskegee Airmen show how to overcome any obstacle. The RISE ABOVE: Red Tail outreach program brings this message to people around the country. You can see the exhibit here Feb. 19-23. Thank you to Lowcountry Aviation Sky Arrow for sponsoring this event.
