This sentence by Van Gogh hits hard:
“If I am worth anything later, I am worth something now. For wheat is wheat, even if people think it is a grass in the beginning.”
@getyourmoneybk@MgciniNyoni We already struggle with simple maintenance of painting buildings, the barest minimum. Now who's going to make sure the turf, the pitch is protected when they hold festivals, concerts etc?
Black people are the most hated human species on earth, that is why it is dumb for black people on the African continent to hate each other and amplify that hatred.
Hatred powered by racism and Afrophobia is now a tool for votes, especially in communities where people are not educated and are malleable to political indoctrination.
Not all things Nigerian or African are bad, just like not all things European are bad. The richest black man is Nigerian, the biggest-selling musicians in Africa are Nigerian. But people focus on the negatives to dehumanise a whole nation.
The same thing happened historically to Jews, Asians, Irish people and many immigrant communities around the world. Once politicians realise that fear and anger can win votes, they start creating convenient enemies for struggling people to blame. Today it is Nigerians, tomorrow it will be another group.
What is dangerous is when Africans themselves begin parroting the same racist narratives used against them globally. Africans cannot fight racism in Europe and America whilst simultaneously spreading hatred against fellow Africans. A continent that hates itself becomes easy to divide, manipulate and weaken.
Criticise crime where it exists, criticise corruption where it exists, but do not dehumanise an entire nationality or race because of the actions of some individuals. That is exactly how racism works.
