Building a championship team isn't just about talent on the court; itβs about cultivating heart, hustle, and harmony. Invest in your players as people first, athletes second.
What Great Leaders Do:
1. Lead by Example: Actions speak louder than words.
2. Communicate Clearly: They listen, guide, and inspire.
3. Build Trust: Trust is earned daily through honesty and consistency.
4. Empower Others: Great leaders create more leaders, not followers.
COACHES: Treat your athletes with respect, dignity, and empathy even when they do not return the favor, or they act immature, or they cost you a win. Be the adult. Be the positive leader. Be the example. Be one of the reasons they become a good adult one day.
COACHES: If you want players to "trust the process", then make sure that you have a good process and, most importantly, you are somebody worth trusting.
