33 Save Soil motorcycles hit the road, departing Isha Yoga Center! These motorcycles will be used by 25 farmer producer organizations to effectively reach remote villages, collect soil samples for testing, help identify new markets for farm produce, and better engage with and help individual farmers. 🧑‍🌾👩‍🌾

A Farmer Producer Organization, or FPO, is a company formed by farmers. With Isha's support, 25 FPOs are established in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to bring economic wellbeing to 9400 farmers. Farmers are being trained under Isha's guidance to become entrepreneurs, which will enable them to lead and manage large FPOs. These FPOs will help raise farmers' income and productivity.

@petaparvati @cpsavesoil The study I mentioned is very much supported by 'real data'. And my point was that it is about much more than soil. Soil is the most massive carbon sequestration solution that we have. Just changing the way we treat it can halt and reverse climate change. That is huge no?

@petaparvati @cpsavesoil It's much more than 'just one small study'. If you look up '4 per 1000' that gives more insight into the potential of save soil. Short summary: increasing global agricultural our soil organic content by just 0.4% annually can offset global carbon emissions.
