The conservatives on here denying the affordability crisis are engaged in what I can only describe as an act of political suicide. They're also lying, which is the worst part. Grocery prices are up. Housing. Energy. Insurance. Health care. Basic living expenses. It's real. It's happening. Denying it just makes you look out of touch, deceitful, and untrustworthy. It's also a completely unnecessary and unforced error. No credible person is claiming that Trump caused these price surges. You don't have to disgrace yourself by denying the reality in front of your face just to prove your loyalty to Trump. The causes for the most part are multi faceted, complicated, and longstanding. That's true. So let's discuss them. Debating whether the problem exists at all -- or, if it does exist, whether it counts as a problem -- is a total waste of time, and makes you look like a shill and a fraud.
@JohnHolbein1 Durant is impossible to rank. Joining the super team for his rings is the glitch. However he was clearly better than peak Curry on those teams, so can’t be behind him, but I get why ppl hold Curry in such regard, tough player to rank!
@JeffreyBrandes@JJordan You are not a strong supporter of lower taxes. You’re literally here arguing against a tax cut. I imagine that some form of a DOGE committee can be sent into any muni whose finances aren’t in order and find minimum 25% worth of savings in their budget.
Wow did you hear what those Republican congressmen said to that bad guy in the hearing? Lol man they really ripped him apart. It was so awesome. What’s that? Oh no the bad guy won’t be arrested or charged with any crime or suffer any consequences of any kind at all. No, there will be no follow up on the hearing, no relevant legislation passed in response to it, no changes of any kind made at all ever. But did you see that viral clip of that one senator? He even used a cuss word! A real cuss word! He’s so tough and brave. I’m so impressed. Aren’t you?
@NickTimiraos He said the goal is to start on first principles, any other way to go about it is worse, and Bostic’s comments show how dogmatic and stuck in their own bubble the Fed has been
@ScottPresler Hey Scott, love your work. I would like to pivot to the ppl who pretend to be on our side but backed Thune over Rick Scott for leader. This was all predictable, we all tried to pressure them to elect Scott, who has our back, and they went with Thune. Save Act was tanked that day.
This is a telling chart for why ppl feel they way they do worldwide. Inflation is higher than growth, the CPI is garbage, doesn’t accurately capture inflation at all and. Is rigged to read lower. We’ve been in recession since 2022.
Money supply is significantly outpacing economic growth across major economies:
Canada's M2 money supply has grown +368% since January 2004, the largest increase among G7 economies.
By comparison, the Canadian economy has expanded +159% over the same period.
The US follows, with M2 growth of +279% versus a +171% increase in nominal GDP.
Meanwhile, M2 in France has surged +258% and +211% in the Euro Area, both outpacing nominal GDP growth of +84% and +102%, respectively.
In Japan, M2 has grown +90% since 2004, while its economy expanded just +25%, the slowest pace among G7 economies.
The gap between money creation and economic growth is widening.
@oklo What's the update? It's been 2 months. Genuinely curious, yes I'm long the stock but also very interested in Nuclear to save our energy conundrum.
@EchoesofWarYT I'm on your side, but let's be fair it's also the DC Republicans that are the problem. The GOP outside of DC is mostly on our side, but something about that city corrupts everything.
@Jason Voted for him 3 times, biggest disappointment is what you just pointed out. I think he’s tried to do more and has been disrupted by courts and congress, however he needs to suck it up/focus on it instead of obsess about foreign policy. He doesn’t want bad GDP numbers though smh!
@Mike_kim714 Seems like a grey area, I don’t think they would’ve dinged most other players for that. The angle of his backswing was to the side of that grass it looked to me
