@NealBruceBC Oddly, I kept overlooking 5. Qxd6+, denying the Q of her full range of influence. Nice puzzle.

[Adam Dreuth @PatzerDX]

@JenShahade @ecfchess 1. Nf7+ Kf8 2. Nd7+ Rxd7 3. Qh8+ Ke7 4. Qxb8.
Lovely!

@thestrongchess I like the draw offer when the kid realizes he or she is lost. Also get this from adults occasionally, to which I usually reply with a derisive laugh.

@Nickvisel I quit Facebook because I couldn't remember my password and couldn't sign-in on the app. Decided it wasn't worth the hassle to reset my password. That was three years ago.

@lichess 1. Kb4 b5 2. Qf4 gf 3. g5 f3 4. g6
1. Kb4 is necessary because black will Q first. With the K on b5, black would Q with check and draw.

So, looks like I WON'T be getting around to checking out Chessable soon. Lol

Not difficult, but satisfying to play. Black to play for a large advantage.

@GMJacobAagaard Carlsbad '23. Kmoch claimed that Spielmann promised Reti that he would win this game after the latter reprimanded him for giving away easy points to the rest of the field (Spielmann had beaten Reti earlier).

[Adam Dreuth @PatzerDX]

@Nickvisel @chessdojo @JesseKraai Love that book.

[Adam Dreuth @PatzerDX]

@IsitZachorZack 1... gh 2. Kd4 h3 3. Kc3 h4 ?

[Adam Dreuth @PatzerDX]

@chessfeels Should've ran Blagojevich in '16.

[Adam Dreuth @PatzerDX]

Why must I lose to this idiot?!
-Nimzowitsch

(And I haven't even played chess in two weeks...)

[Adam Dreuth @PatzerDX]

@hanshuisman1940 @MauriceAshley 4. Kxf6 allows 4... a1=Q+. So just 4. Ra7.

Chicago Class, rd. 2.
Found myself down a piece after 15 moves as B. Decided to play on because I didn't want my game to go shorter than my commute. Got into a 4 pawns vs. 3 pawns + Kt endgame. Scummed out a draw. Once again. 1/2 (R1 bye).

@natesolon I said the same thing to the school nurse, to which she calmly asked me to please pick up my son. Trust me - much easier to screen their phone calls than to attempt to reason with them.

[Adam Dreuth @PatzerDX]

@drrmthomas Never sure whether I should try to read more books or just go deep-dive into a handful. I have fond memories of that one, though.

@ChessLobster Destruction of French? Good show!

[Adam Dreuth @PatzerDX]

Brutal tournament. Having issues with stamina during weekend events. Felt physically shitty after two rounds of g/60. Need to improve sleep and diet, increase exercise, and give up the smokes. Probably a good idea generally, but also... chess. Forty hits hard, man.
