It has been three years since the world watched in horror as Hamas terrorists committed one of the most brutal and barbaric massacres in modern history.

Hamas beheaded babies, raped countless women, murdered innocent people and dragged their bodies through the street.

So many people lost loved ones and friends. Families were ripped apart, and communities were devastated.

It’s absolutely heartbreaking and something we can NEVER forget.

Over the past three years, the strength of the Israeli people has been inspiring.

Their resilience and commitment to freedom have carried Israel and the Jewish people through the awful aftermath of these attacks.

It is those same qualities that make them a strong and strategic ally and a close friend of the United States.

Over the past year, all the surviving hostages have been returned, as well as all the remains of the deceased hostages, thanks to @POTUS’ leadership.

Together, America and Israel are standing up against evil to protect our citizens from the terrorism and tyranny of our shared enemies.

As your U.S. Senator, I am proud to support Florida’s Jewish communities and fight against antisemitism wherever it arises.

We will never forget October 7th.

Captain Machchhar, the State of Israel owes you a tremendous debt of gratitude. When the next Knesset convenes, I will submit a bill to name a lounge at Ben Gurion Airport in your honor!

I would also like to wish you a full and speedy recovery, and extend my best wishes to your family and your wonderful parents, who taught you that saving human life is the highest value.

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.

Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.

He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.

I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.

He is a true hero.
