@iancollinsuk Ian, I respectfully suggest that PACTS might be working towards reducing the 1600 deaths that occur on UK roads every year. Five people every day who are not returning home to their families - Ever.

Ten years ago this month, I retired as a police officer.
I’ve written a short reflection on joining at 19, ten years in roads policing from 22, and the path that eventually led me to @roadvictimstrus

Remember, no text, call, social media account or notification is worth more than a life!
Using a phone whilst driving will only end one way - badly and in tragedy!
It really isn’t with it. It can wait!

It’s #SmallCharityWeek 💙
For 30 years, The Road Victims Trust has supported those affected by road collisions with free counselling & practical help.
We’re small in size, but big in impact.
Thank you to all who make our work possible.

This first photograph reflects only a portion of the wonderful individuals who enable us to change lives every single day🧡Thank you to everyone who attended the RVT Garden Party to celebrate our volunteers' dedication & commemorating 30 years of providing services 🎉 #thankyou
Biker deaths are disproportionately high compared to the number of motorcycles on the road. It’s why we are supporting #OperationApex (2 – 15 June), checking bikes for defects and educating riders. @BedsPolice@CambsCops@HertsPolice
@twistedteaspoon@beez128@Jenny_1884 Even small charities have a CEO who is the figurehead and leader. Leaders put the refuse out and read the meters as well as delivering the strategic plan. You wear many hats on a daily basis. It’s what makes it interesting, varied and so rewarding.
@beez128@twistedteaspoon@Jenny_1884 I was just offering a balanced view. The comments started suggesting charity CEOs are all paid a fortune.
Would be interesting to know why the e-commerce sites align themselves with the larger charities.
@mi22or@NocturnalToker@Jenny_1884 Hi - yes, I knew you were responding to the guy who doesn’t believe in charities 😀👍🏼.
We are recognising our thirtieth anniversary this year - a significant milestone !
@twistedteaspoon@beez128@Jenny_1884 If a CEO leads a large charity effectively — increasing income, improving efficiency, and enabling support for more people — doesn’t their salary reflect the leadership, responsibility, and impact they deliver?
@mi22or@NocturnalToker@Jenny_1884 We have a team of 95. 10 employed staff including myself, and 85 incredible volunteers, 10 of whom are trustees.
That’s how a small charity operates and delivers the quality service that makes such a difference to the lives of so many.
