I wanted to go one for 6 regions. So no matter what roster I field, I'll be compliant.
I know Allegiant Stadium couldn’t host World Cup matches because of FIFA’s field-size requirements, but imagine fans from all over the world descending on Las Vegas.
The atmosphere would be unreal, and I think people would be blown away by just how incredible the stadium is ⚽️
Ok. So I’m going to do something that will blow people’s mind.
Wait for it.
I’ll admit that I used the wrong words and that you’re right. People provide soul. And in that case, World Cup would bring it.
It still doesn’t change my original take, it’s a boring ass plain stadium - architecturally - which is literally why I called it plain.
That said, probably should have been chosen over Levi’s. That place is plain, poorly laid out, and has zero soul because well Silicon Valley has none.
None. But when the design inspiration is luxury sports car that’s … plain.
As I research other design inspirations: Glendale’s seems cool but the standout remains rose roof in Atlanta.
I’m not asking for massive scoreboards, but the design of “luxury sports car” is as plain as you can get.
It’s woefully clear that people can’t seem to figure out that I can think Allegiant is plain and think it’s a bad thing.
It’s not. There is nothing wrong with vanilla.
The flavor of Allegiant is the city itself in.
But some got their knickers in a bunch about it. It’s a really random hill to defend.
Yes. But do you remember the original tweet this was for: @armani_lingo8 said “Fans would be blown away by the stadium.”
I replied plain.
But Vegas would be so good for the World Cup.
Too many of you are thinking: Allegiant = plain means Vegas = Plain.
Both statements can be true.
Also you seem to think plain and functional are on two different planes of thought.
The Torch isn’t driving people to the building. The roof? Nah. Windows? Nope.
My point is I’m not asking for a rose flower retractable roof.
I’m asking for something that makes Allegiant unique. For $2 billion, it’s nice, functional and plain.
Zero things wrong with that.
Ahh I see. Conceptually.
As it stands of today, none.
Because as all things: subject to change.
Second, can you explain me to what is being copied?
Lastly, do you want me to change my opinion? What is your goal here? Because I will say this: my opinion is it’s plain. I’ve been to a lot of stadiums and Allegiant is plain like MetLife
Windows that never open; the translucent roof? But do they add anything to the experience? Do they have any type of “wow” factor.
I don’t people are entering allegiant and saying, “Wow! That’s a cool roof”
At least you could have said the torch. That is its most and important character point.
@amp8691 I men, whether it’s correct or not, it’s my opinion. Im defending it.
It has no character compared to others I’ve been in.
It’s near the bottom of stadiums. Mostly because it’s soulless. As @Magnum702 said, upgrade from MetLife but mostly in high-end feature with the roof.
If you’re a fan of a Canadian hockey team (less so TOR/MTL), would you feel comfortable with your team taking an American in the top 10? If it’s close, would you rather a Canadian/Swede/Finn/etc.?
Feels like US guys are trying to turn NHL into NBA with “super team” nonsense.
In case you didn’t read the original tweet let me rephrase the context and answer your question.
Yes, Vegas would have been fantastic. It always is. It’s why people come back.
But in the original tweet, @armani_lingo8 said that people would be blown away. I reply as I tend to do with Armani, that the stadium is plain with no distinct features.
I did not say: bad or even not state of the art.
It’s a stadium and it’s plain from pure utilitarian function.
Why would I need to go to more NFL stadiums? I compare it to all stadiums. Last I checked this isn’t just a football stadium. Other events exists.
But let me ask you, aside from your expertise in stadiums, aside NFL ones, any others?
I know Canada lacks high quality stadiums, but your experience is grossly different than mine.
