There’s still a whole round of group play and almost 4 weeks left of the World Cup and I’m already sad about it ending 😂😂 Been really enjoying it this time around.
Imagine being forced to give someone 6.2% of your paycheck, every single check, every month, for 30 to 50 years of your life.
And that person said, "Don't worry, I'm holding this for you and will pay it back to you on a monthly basis, when you retire at 65."
And then they said, "Nah, just kidding. I meant when you retire at 67. And at that time, I'll only give you 70% of what you paid me."
And then they said, "Oops, I spent all your money. You're out of luck."
That's the U.S. government.
@PaulDelos_ This is the correct take. People automatically think stadium with a roof = awesome. But in reality most have no soul and in 10-15 years when 80% of NFL stadiums are indoor they’re all gonna be largely the same and lack uniqueness
@TunedupToast@Celtic1Joe@EliotShorrParks They literally would never do that. No team with a retractable roof does. You go retractable then say goodbye to cold games, hot games, snow games, rain games. Literally anything under like 65 and above 80 it’d be closed.
@RMTFKR11@Buzzdietyear@john_wilddog 🤷♂️🤷♂️ it works haha but that’s what makes football unique. A league that’s 90% passing in 75 degree perfect condition indoor stadiums is lame. Variety is nice.
@Buzzdietyear@john_wilddog I mean ain’t that the truth lol anything but the players. Look at the nfl owners catering to FIFA with grass fields but not their own players. A joke
@RMTFKR11@Buzzdietyear@john_wilddog That’s football. Eagles play in the rain a lot. Had a playoff game in the snow 18 months ago. Weather games are what makes football fun and random.
@ABA_Demonz MetLife stadium blows. Don’t get me wrong. But dome stadium doesn’t = better. I like that the quarterfinals, the final and bronze match are outdoor stadiums. Feels more pure.
@Buzzdietyear@john_wilddog So is Baltimore. Philly and NY and Carolina aren’t much better either. Weather is part of sports, especially football. A shame the NFL wants to remove the weather from the game and by association all other sports that happen in these stadiums.
@Delvir_1 SoFi is definitely a better stadium technologically but people think Old Trafford is better the same way Lambeau and Arrowhead and majority of college football stadiums are better than SoFi. History, character, etc. Sometimes it’s not always about the bells and whistles
So the plan seems to be watch majority of the @FIFAWorldCup matches on @FOXSports to understand the English and then flip over to @Telemundo during hydration breaks to avoid the commercial slop
Bro three minutes of commercials for “hydration breaks” freaking blows. The lack of constant commercials and non stop for 45+ mins is part of what’s appealing about soccer vs other sports in the US. Cmon @FOXSports@FOXSoccer@FIFAcom@FIFAWorldCup
