World No. 1 amateur Jackson Koivun is coming off a T11 and T6 in his last two PGA TOUR starts. Wildly impressive stuff.

With 17 ShotLink-measured rounds this year, the stats point an intriguing picture. Strong driver. He’d rank 31st in SG: Off-the-Tee, averaging 312 yards per drive and hitting 61% of his fairways. He was in the top 15 in driving accuracy in 3 of his 5 starts this year while displaying above-average distance.

There’s one big outlier. He’s gaining 1.1 strokes per round on the greens. That would lead the TOUR. No one has gained more than 1 stroke per round on the greens since Jason Day in 2016. More than half Jackson’s strokes gained on the greens come from his week at the Deere, though, where he gained nearly 10 strokes and finished T11.

He can clearly roll the rock. He’s gained strokes on the greens in all 4 events where he made the cut.

He also is slightly in the red in Strokes Gained: Approach. That looks like one area for improvement as he continues to progress.

He’s made cut in 4 of 5 TOUR starts this year (the exception is an MC by 1 at the U.S. Open). An exciting future is ahead, especially with his PGA TOUR card already ensured.

NEW: Delta Airlines caught chucking a college golf team’s clubs at the San Diego airport before the NCAA Championships.

The airline industry is becoming one of the most hated industries in America.

The East Tennessee State University men’s golf team filmed Delta employees launching their gear on the tarmac.

“Nice of Delta to handle our clubs with such care…” the team said on X.

The team was traveling to the NCAA Championships in Carlsbad, California when the incident happened.
