@ImBreckWorsham This war was planned in 2025 or even during the 2024 campaign. Saudi Arabia also wanted the war with Iran. Why didn't the Saudis refill our SPR at a reduced cost last year ? So much of this fallout could have been avoided.
@MattWalshBlog Removing the payroll tax cap on high earners like Matt Walsh and Ben Shapiro would close 60% - 73% of the trust fund shortfall for 75 years. This is without raising the payroll tax on middle class and working class Americans.
@MattWalshBlog You aren't supposed to only get back what you paid in. The trust fund is invested in bonds, and those bonds compound over the 40 or so years of work, there is "return" on the investment as well.
@boleary0720@ImBreckWorsham Here's the chart, the formula. The more you make, the more you need to save for retirement to maintain your standard of living.
@MattWalshBlog Important chart to understand where the wealth is being transferred. The more you earn on average, the less you get from SS. YOU are expected to save to maintain your income in retirement, plus pay income tax on your SS to boot.
@boleary0720@ImBreckWorsham Yes, the formula is both more generous and they also don't pay income tax. They want to tilt it even further in that direction now.
@ImBreckWorsham They already screwed the middle class in the 80's reform by making their SS taxable, so that was already a benefit cut. Don't let them do it again.
@ImBreckWorsham Focus on blocking the reformers from flattening the benefits. They want to screw future middle class recipients by lowering their benefit, while increasing benefits for those at the bottom. That turns it into a welfare program. That's far worse than a slight tick in payroll tax
@VladTheInflator Gen X (65 million strong) starts collecting SS NEXT YEAR. Start moaning about greedy Gen Xers. Thank you for your attention to this matter. π
@MattWalshBlog High earners like Matt don't want the payroll tax to apply to all of their income. They get away with murder on the income tax side (with the help of accountants) but the payroll tax doesn't give them wiggle room. Pay up Matt ! π€£
