@GavinNewsom They will actually become more diverse, albeit, not in the way people think. We will see a larger diversity of Asian nationalities represented at most universities since they have the highest SAT + GPA combination on average and the fewest low scoring applicants.
@WatcherGuru There are no loopholes. Everything is onchain and the regular tax rules are unfavorable to crypto traders. Furthermore, the amount of work to do a proper tax return for high volume, cross-chain trading is insane.
@EdKrassen I think the answer is to compel universities to use their endowments to setup early education programs that focus on preparing marginalized student populations for higher education whether it be at their institution or another. Diversity and fairness can coexist.
@SenWarren I love that it’s now the top 10% and not the top 1%. Soon it will be the top 20%. The top 10% aren’t ultra-rich, most are business owners and many blue collar specialists (plumbers, electricians, automotive). The real rich don’t cheat on taxes, they follow the rules the closest.
@JeromeAdamsMD@msabouri Not typically medical science though. Any accepted treatment of an illness should have 2x as much research put into proving its useless / can be treated without as strengthening its position as the solution. There’s no control for medical science, things change too much.
@dcinvestor It’s bullshit. It’s a ton of work to do them right, a lot of taxes paid on what amounts to only paper gains. It’s also a real shame there’s a cap on losses for individuals.
@levelsio Think about this often. Learning about the history of AI this was predicted in the 60’s & 80’s, but at those times the technology wasn’t strong enough & software non existent. I think AI has become what those scientists imagined & the software architecture ideal for automation.
@ashleevance There were good times, not too long ago, even in the worst parts of San Francisco. Visiting a year ago proved those times were gone even in some of the nicest areas.
@dcinvestor So, if ideas are a commodity. It will just be about the same things - who is the best operator and how much money will it take to win. The most experienced and well capitalized will win at an increasing rate with AI.
@dcinvestor Yes and no. Working in VC I learned how commoditized great ideas are. You hear the same idea pitched 20 different ways, many with a lot of the same smart strategy. Ultimately, it’s usually the other factors that get you excited about an investment.
@unusual_whales How does a fund that’s supposed to support people from 65 to end of their life run out of money if the average life expectancy is only 65-67 years old?
@EDNYnews@NewYorkFBI If you want to go to this extreme, then anyone suggesting “your vote doesn’t count” or “you’re wasting a vote” when not voting for their party is guilty of the same. What a fucking joke.
