Indian CAs in practice are requesting an extension of the tax audit due date for AY 2026-27, but the Union Finance Ministry has not responded, and the Income Tax Department remains silent. Will you support the CAs in this case?

Just left the office! Have to go back by 8 AM because the request to extend the due date has only fallen on deaf ears.

I sometimes wonder, does government ever feel accountable for all the stress that professionals go through just because they extend the due date on the last date?

Due date should have been extended by now, not because everybody is demanding it, but because it eas sensible to do it.

Forms for ITR 1 released in June.
ITR 1 due date was July.
Business ITRs due date was August.

Where's the room to prepare for tax audits? Is one month sufficient to audit 60 clients?

And before people come up lecturing us on why we didn't start working on audit clients before June,

saaaar AIS July tak bhi updated nahi thi saaaaar! 🙏🏻

Just had an unofficial discussion with CBDT officials and they said just get 50k RTs to make our voices heard. FM ne bola 50k RTs and extension le jao!

This is not engagement farming but a genuine conversation.

Kindly extend the Tax Audit Report due date. Till 31.08.2026, CAs & Consultants were occupied with ITR filing of non-audit assessees. Adequate time is now required to complete tax audits diligently & accurately.
