Crowdsourcing ideas about mideast peace from everyday people worldwide and integrating the best of them in a peaceable, plausible, cohesive whole. Est. 2009.
It is regrettable that @CNN, a leading international media outlet, chose not to contact COGAT for verification before amplifying an inaccurate claim attributed to the UN. Responsible reporting requires basic fact-checking, particularly on issues with humanitarian implications.
There are three water pipelines from Israel and one from Egypt running into the Gaza Strip. A pipeline has experienced a temporary technical malfunction and is currently undergoing rapid repairs. All other water pipelines are fully operational and continue to supply water as usual.
The malfunction is currently being addressed on the Gazan side. In the interim, water is being delivered to Gaza City through water trucks to ensure continuity of supply.
Water in the Gaza Strip is also supplied through desalination plants and water pumping facilities, with ongoing entry of fuel to facilitate the operations of these facilities. Overall water availability in the Gaza Strip remains well above the humanitarian threshold required.
Israel continues to facilitate water provision and humanitarian assistance to Gaza, in coordination with international partners, and remains committed to addressing civilian needs alongside ongoing security considerations.
We’re considering a text change that will impact future citizenship options for children born in either state to a ‘special permanent resident’ of that state.
EDIT: CHANGE 'opt' (in red) to 'petition'.
All comments welcome.
@humblerock Our composing group discussed that very issue and it was decided to give as much discretion as possible to the state versus the applicant or—as was eventually decided—the petitioner. Always open to other ideas. :)

@hahussain A new Arab state intertwined with Israel would never have had full military and diplomatic sovereignty. Not under the UN’s 1947 partition plan and especially not after the 1948 pan-Arab War revealed Israel’s greater defensive imperative. What’s needed is a suzerainty arrangement.
With the approval of the first phase of the plan, all our hostages will be brought home. This is a diplomatic success and a national and moral victory for the State of Israel.
From the beginning, I made it clear: we will not rest until all our hostages return and all our goals are achieved.
Through steadfast resolve, powerful military action, and the great efforts of our great friend and ally President Trump, we have reached this critical turning point.
I thank President Trump for his leadership, his partnership, and his unwavering commitment to the safety of Israel and the freedom of our hostages.
God Bless Israel.
God Bless America.
God Bless our great alliance.
Q: Has the Gaza war impacted your program?
A: No effect on our Text. Most recent iteration, Jan 2023. Some suggest strengthening security provisions, but those details must be worked out in negotiations. Our goal is to create a narrative both peoples can live with – and vote on.
Joint statement by the foreign ministers of Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt welcomes the sincere efforts of the U.S. President to end the war in Gaza.
