When you grant something out of compassion and not principle, you stop having an agreement and start having a hostage. And the one who takes advantage of your good faith doesn't feel guilty. He feels clever
One time in my PSM posting I had the opportunity to see this patient who had been seeking Homeopathic treatment (in the same hospital) for breathlessness.
Steth to chest, and he has crepts like someone is driving a tractor in there. Full blown CHF.
A protest is happening right in the capital where thousands are on the streets demanding merit.
And not a single political party or politician is standing with them.
Imagine a country's future without merit.
If this doesn't alarm you, nothing will !
Whoever is fighting against reservations is not against the idea of helping the disadvantaged. They are against the current form of caste-based reservations, where the benefits can continue across generations while genuinely disadvantaged people are left behind.
And those from reserved categories who blindly oppose any reform should at least understand the basic argument: questioning the system is not the same as opposing social justice. Merit, equal opportunity and targeted support can coexist.
If the general category protesters genuinely care about their future and the future of their kids, they will continue to do everything to demand better from the incumbent government but ensure they do not do anything that increases the likelihood of handing over power to the opposition whose leader has made it abundantly clear that there will be reservations even in the private sector if they come to power.
The general category in India is sandwiched between the incumbent government that cracks down on its peaceful protest within a few hours and an opposition led by a leader who will surely introduce reservations even in the private sector if he comes to power.
Your caste should not decide whether you get accepted to a school, a job or a promotion.
Birth is not merit. Birth is certainly not justice.
Help the poor directly.
Fix government schools.
Punish discrimination.
One nation. One standard. One fair chance.
End caste quotas.
I fully support the Reservation Hatao Movement 👏
Reservation was supposed to eliminate backwardness.
Instead, it has become a system that keeps adding more communities as "backward" rather than removing them out of it.
If your cure creates more patients than recoveries, maybe it's time to question the cure.
Maybe I’m wrong but I think a government that demands accountability for how you spend YOUR money, but refuses to account for how it spends YOUR money, should be immediately replaced.
No political axe to grind here, but in India, the easiest way to discredit a public figure is to insinuate that they are rich, or have sex, or drink alcohol. Gandhi's spiritual shadow is so long on India's history that if you deviate from his ideals, you are irreparably corrupt.
Bal Thackeray is the only exception I can think of.
All the PR effort of midnight reels for the past 10 days, IIT Delhi visit, carefully managed optics to woo students/Gen Z all undone by one of their own, @MishraManan01 😂
IT Cell must be exhausted trying to put band aid on the million new wounds being inflicted every day !
It's already Aug 12 and not a single feeling that independence day is just 2 days away.
The nation must introspect today why people lose the connection with the nation.
When the nation exploits people & doesn't fullfil it's duties, it happens. Why doesn't the nation sacrifice?
Promised:
Make in India- Skill India- Digital India- Stand up India- Start up India- Walk India - Run India
Delivered:
Sit down India- Shut up India - Shut down India - No protest India - Back off India - Living Hell India
Have you ever wondered why governments keep proposing 6-month bridge courses or certification programs that allow practitioners from other systems to prescribe modern medicines?
Ask yourself: who benefits the most? PHARMA INDUSTRY
One perspective is that every new prescriber expands the market for pharmaceutical companies. More prescribers = more prescriptions = a larger pharmaceutical market.
Let’s look at Maharashtra.
• Registered allopathic doctors: 2,13,551
• Registered homeopathic doctors: 90,006 (en.mahaenews)
If every eligible homeopathic doctor is eventually allowed to prescribe modern medicines after a short certification course, that’s a potential increase of over 42% in the number of prescribers (from ~2.14 lakh to ~3.04 lakh).
Is this policy purely about improving access, or should we also discuss the commercial incentives it creates?

But, dear Judges, what is the problem with MBBS doctors going on strike? India has other doctors too right? The Government and Law has given them doctor title and they diagnose and treat patients too - BAMS (Ayurveda), BHMS (Homeopathy), BUMS (Unani), BYNS (Naturopathy) - they can handle the patients right?
Because they are doctors, correct? If not, then why are they called doctors? And why are you asking MBBS and MD doctors avoid strike for their fundamental rights?
Fix the fcking system. MBBS doctors and residents are not the legal system's foot stool for them move them where you want to rest your feet. First decide, who the real doctors are and then take decisions.
The resident doctors strike must continue. IMA is useless here. It is a political organization that will maximum make you wear a black badge. Pathetic. It has to be doctors associations who should take this up and get on the streets to show the quacks their rightful place.
