@renjingles I actually think Elden Beast with Torrent is pretty enjoyable now lmao, it's definitely more dynamic and rushing it down with our trusty stead feels very appropriate and how it should've been on launch imo. Gonna be interesting to see how they'll handle the next not-ER-scale game
@renjingles Kind of a shame about the final one but then again, SotE is pretty much just a standalone game, so the good ol' "Final FS boss is either the peak of peaks or a bit meh" applies lmao. Bayle and Messmer are definitely in my top 10 of best bosses now though, can't wait for a rematch
@Kerriodos I just arrived in Tural, right now I am mostly expecting a mix between ARR and SB. Some adventuring vibes, lots of exposition, some plot threads for 6.x and beyond and unreasonably high fidelity food
@renjingles @illusorywall At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they suddenly fix the Godskin Noble's insanely buggy roll cancel and a subset of degenerates loses their shit over "From catering to casuals". And I am certain we'll see this happen again when they nerf the final DLC boss next week lmao
@renjingles @illusorywall Happened when they nerfed the overtuned angels in Ringed City, happened when they nerfed Blazing Bull in Sekiro, with Radahn, with Balteus/Sea Spider/Ibis. Fuck, I am seeing some people being angry about Torrent being part of the Elden Beast fight now, this community is rotten
@dangitjm That way healing is still not free but the enemies wouldn't show Matrix-levels reaction times and a good player can additionally figure out a way to deal with the heal punish --> big fun!
@dangitjm Heal punishes are not new to the series (Gwyn's slow combo in DS1, Orphan of Kos jumping you in BB) but I think for the purposes of combat feel and flow in ER, I would've started the punishes 6-7 frames later but made the punish attack a bit more elaborate (1/2)
@illusorywall Absolutely agreed, pausing is just much more reasonable than quitting out. How would you implement it though? Maybe ER-style but with a proper pause option in the menu (disabled during multiplayer of course), so you can only change gear "during active gameplay"?
@renjingles The scale and art direction are absolutely out of this world. But after essentially two open world games, I do want FROM to go back to more linear games for a while I think, with some hyper-refined Sekiro-level combat system
@renjingles The amount of new combat options, especially when using my new favourite hardtear, are insane. I kinda wish they turned that hardtear into a talisman, but I understand why it would be a bit too much
@haligdrake I KNOW RIGHT? imma Rot13 decode this to not spoil my oomfies:

@StudentLoansFF If you want to start again, I do think you should just get the DLC bundle version for PC. Apparently it plays really well on the Deck and even though performance is sus at times and the port is a bit barren I enjoy it more on PC than I do on PS5 (+ modding is peak)
