@resir014@Hergam42 I agree, but why are the only tournaments that take place during US/Asia/OCE hours blocked behind region locks? I'm sure European players would come and play them even at inconvenient times
@HuskyGoalie @EthanLegion If they wanted to maximize viewership to that extent,
why give three slots to Oceania, which is not known for its number of esports viewers?
And why not give one slot to China or Southeast Asia, which are among the largest esports markets?
@Hergam42@resir014 I can already tell the argument will be timezone but we all know some EU players will get up at 3am espacially if it's for EWC to play on other timezone
@EthanLegion @HuskyGoalie As I said, I'm sure that if you held an open cup at the OCE time, European players would come and play, but if I'm not mistaken, that hasn't happened recently.
So from what are you locking the cup ? EU player coming to play at 1am ?
The thing is, I saw that you mentioned Mobile Legends in one of your tweets. I admit I'm not an expert on the scene, but I imagine there's a league in at least most parts of the world.
That's not the case with Trackmania. I see the game more as a fighting game in terms of qualifications, and I would have liked to see qualifications open to everyone, as is the case with the latter, even if it's true that creating offline tournaments in these regions is complicated and few people would be able to travel there.
@HuskyGoalie I agree that the fact that minor regions are represented is a good thing, but once again, why are the regions so divided, and what are the arguments for giving so many slots to this or that region?
Very proud to represent such a prestigious organization as Weibo for the 2026 Trackmania season ! Together with @HeavTM, we'll give it our all to be worthy of our new colors!
