Team Canada needs to stand together more united than ever before.
The prime minister has my full support for a strong responseātariff for tariff, dollar for dollar. As we fight to protect Canadian sovereignty and economic security, everything needs to be on the table. Ontario is ready to do its part.
Canada didn't choose this fight, but we'll get through it the way we always have: together. It's going to be a tough stretch for Toronto workers and businesses.
Do your part. Buy Canadian, support local, and stand behind the people who build things here.
Read the article and think for yourself: It says that Fedeli didnāt bill the Ministry for meals and expenses for staff. His EDA picked up that tab. He wasnāt simultaneously billing for the same expenses, as this tweet would have you think. The words are crafty but read through them.
On a personal note: every (every) time Iāve gone for dinner or a lunch or even a coffee with Minister Fedeli, he insists on paying his own way. And Iāve known him a long time.
Vic is the kind of guy who will sooner drive back to North Bay rather than fly when prices are high because itās better for the public purse. In my 20+ years in politics, I havenāt met many people more loyal to the Crown- to the public good - as Vic Fedeli.
When a Jewish-owned business gets hit twice, itās not coincidence, itās a targeted campaign of intimidation on one community. Synagogues, schools, and Jewish businesses come under attack again and again.
This country needs to wake up to the hatred metastasizing in its streets.
Canadaās Jewish community isnāt asking for sympathy, theyāre demanding action. Find the people responsible, arrest them, and prosecute them. Toothless bills, thoughts and prayers and more statements donāt quell a communityās anxiety, they just insult it. Task forces donāt act. No more councils that donāt speak up.
Just do the results part. Enforce the law.
Last nightās shooting at Temple Emanu-El Synagogue in North York was a vile and targeted act of antisemitism, an attack not only on a place of worship, but on the safety and dignity of Ontarioās Jewish community.
Antisemitism has no place in our province. We will not tolerate hate, intimidation or violence against any community. We stand firmly with our Jewish neighbours and will always defend their right to gather, worship and live openly and safely in Ontario.

Today, I issued a letter to the @TorontoPolice Service and the @TPSBoard to clearly outline concerns surrounding the lack of consistent enforcement when it comes to intimidation, harassment and other hate-motivated offences.
Our governmentās efforts to protect Ontario have been extremely proactive to ensure that public safety is consistent across Ontario, by backing police with the tools, authorities and investments to address hate-motivated crime and public order challenges.
We have made our expectations clear: these tools must be used. Torontonians and all Ontarians deserve to feel safe in their neighbourhoods, in public spaces, and in their daily lives.
@TPAca
This is how friendly Neighbors should act toward one another. Friendly competition between the Dodgers and the Blue Jays and two great leaders.
Itās also a great ad against tariffs which Iām sure Donald Trump is going to flip out about.
So using the judge's, ahem, logic, government could not reduce health care spending, or decommission a hospital... After all, both of those measures would endanger someone's safety.
Today marks the 10th anniversary of Canadaās last balanced budget I was honoured to present on behalf of @stephenharper government. @MarkJCarney profligate fiscal platform promises $130 billion higher Liberal deficits than previously forecast.
President Trump calls tomorrow Liberation Day. I call it Termination Day.
Tariffs are absolute job killers. Millions of Americansā livelihoods will be put at risk.
Canadians and Americans deserve stability. Today, I sat down with @johnrobertsFox to discuss the urgency of reaching a trade deal that works for both sides of the border. Letās get to the table.
President Trumpās tariffs are driving markets down, hurting American workers and businesses. Itās time to drop these tariffs for good and reach a fair deal. Until then, Ontario wonāt back down.
After Canadians stood firm, Secretary Lutnick today extended an olive branch. Iām going to work with him in good faith toward a free trade deal thatās fair for both countries.
This morning, I met with Mark Carney, Canadaās incoming prime minister for a positive and productive discussion. We agreed on the need to stand firm and strong in the face of President Trumpās threats, including additional retaliatory tariffs in response to U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum, which will raise costs for American businesses and families. Team Canada has risen to the challenge and proven that no one should ever underestimate the strength and resilience of the Canadian people. Together, we will get through this more united than ever before.
Ā
Canada wonāt relent until the threat of tariffs is gone for good. I look forward to sitting down with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and members of the Trump administrationās economic team tomorrow. Facing the cost of Ontarioās 25 per cent surcharge on electricity exports, Secretary Lutnick extended an olive branch to start a conversation about the future of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement. Over the coming weeks and months, Iām going to work with Secretary Lutnick, our federal partners and every premier in good faith toward a free trade deal thatās fair for both countries.
