Last night’s shooting at Temple Emanu-El Synagogue in North York was a vile and targeted act of antisemitism, an attack not only on a place of worship, but on the safety and dignity of Ontario’s Jewish community.
Antisemitism has no place in our province. We will not tolerate hate, intimidation or violence against any community. We stand firmly with our Jewish neighbours and will always defend their right to gather, worship and live openly and safely in Ontario.

Today, I issued a letter to the @TorontoPolice Service and the @TPSBoard to clearly outline concerns surrounding the lack of consistent enforcement when it comes to intimidation, harassment and other hate-motivated offences.
Our government’s efforts to protect Ontario have been extremely proactive to ensure that public safety is consistent across Ontario, by backing police with the tools, authorities and investments to address hate-motivated crime and public order challenges.
We have made our expectations clear: these tools must be used. Torontonians and all Ontarians deserve to feel safe in their neighbourhoods, in public spaces, and in their daily lives.
@TPAca
This is how friendly Neighbors should act toward one another. Friendly competition between the Dodgers and the Blue Jays and two great leaders.
It’s also a great ad against tariffs which I’m sure Donald Trump is going to flip out about.
So using the judge's, ahem, logic, government could not reduce health care spending, or decommission a hospital... After all, both of those measures would endanger someone's safety.
Today marks the 10th anniversary of Canada’s last balanced budget I was honoured to present on behalf of @stephenharper government. @MarkJCarney profligate fiscal platform promises $130 billion higher Liberal deficits than previously forecast.
President Trump calls tomorrow Liberation Day. I call it Termination Day.
Tariffs are absolute job killers. Millions of Americans’ livelihoods will be put at risk.
Canadians and Americans deserve stability. Today, I sat down with @johnrobertsFox to discuss the urgency of reaching a trade deal that works for both sides of the border. Let’s get to the table.
President Trump’s tariffs are driving markets down, hurting American workers and businesses. It’s time to drop these tariffs for good and reach a fair deal. Until then, Ontario won’t back down.
After Canadians stood firm, Secretary Lutnick today extended an olive branch. I’m going to work with him in good faith toward a free trade deal that’s fair for both countries.
This morning, I met with Mark Carney, Canada’s incoming prime minister for a positive and productive discussion. We agreed on the need to stand firm and strong in the face of President Trump’s threats, including additional retaliatory tariffs in response to U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum, which will raise costs for American businesses and families. Team Canada has risen to the challenge and proven that no one should ever underestimate the strength and resilience of the Canadian people. Together, we will get through this more united than ever before.
Canada won’t relent until the threat of tariffs is gone for good. I look forward to sitting down with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and members of the Trump administration’s economic team tomorrow. Facing the cost of Ontario’s 25 per cent surcharge on electricity exports, Secretary Lutnick extended an olive branch to start a conversation about the future of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement. Over the coming weeks and months, I’m going to work with Secretary Lutnick, our federal partners and every premier in good faith toward a free trade deal that’s fair for both countries.
I’ll be joining @KyraPhillips on @ABC at 1:00 p.m. to stress the need for Canada and the U.S. to get to the table and start a discussion toward a free trade deal that’s fair for both countries. We’ll continue to negotiate through strength.
I’ll be on @CNN with @wolfblitzer at 11:20 a.m. to continue sending a message to Americans that President Trump needs to end this tariff chaos for good.
U.S. markets are tumbling because of President Trump’s tariffs. Prices are going up for hardworking Americans.
He needs to drop the tariffs now, for good. Until he does, Ontario will stand firm.
The only thing that’s certain today is more uncertainty. A pause on some tariffs means nothing. Until President Trump removes the threat of tariffs for good, we will be relentless.
