OK, my mind’s blown. I’m reading Michael Pollan’s new book, A World Appears, and he talks about xenobots: tiny living machines built from embryonic frog skin cells.

They have no brain, no nerves, no circuitry—yet they move, cooperate a little, heal themselves, and in some cases gather loose cells into new xenobots.

It’s not exactly reproduction. It’s more like…. Frankenstein building a Frankenstein.

They’ve really made these things and allegedly have done the same with human tracheal cells.

Communism through (my) ages:
1) When I was 15, a teacher told me "It isn't as bad as they say, and makes a lot of sense."
2) At about 19, college friends, "Socialism isn't communism."
3) At 20, on meeting my grandfather-in-law, "They are evil. We escaped in 1949."
4) At 30, "China is a wonderful developing Democracy"
5) At 35, I was sent to communist China on business. It was a crowded, smelly, dirty, factory of despair and hopelessness. This I saw with my own eyes.
6) At 36, "China doesn't count. Successful socialism is in northern Europe."
7) I moved to northern Europe when I was 40. It was much nicer than China, but also felt like I was living in the past. I had to wait 6 months for a hernia operation.
8) When I was about 45, the migrant crisis began. The socialist/globalist/pacifist allowed them entry into every country, regardless how many crimes they committed along the way. Just 20 minutes from my house, in Calais, I was shocked to see migrants jumping onto trucks, breaking open the doors, scattering the contents across the highway, then climbing in. They went through the Chunnel and got out in England.
9) At 52, the soft socialism around me had transformed into globalism. I was told I had to call people by their preferred pronouns, though it was a lie, and even if I didn't know what the preferences were. I quit.
10) I returned to the US, and am now 60. "Socialism" is no longer a dirty word here. People openly espouse the virtues of it. Politicians run as socialists and win.

Socialism has taken many forms, from the Bolshevism of Russia, to the CCP in China, the Nazis in Germany, Fascists in Italy, and the many forms of it found in Latin America. It is one of the two most destructive ideologies on earth. It is designed to deprive, despirit, and murder everything that comes in contact with it.

Socialism is a great lie at every level. It helps no one, not even those who benefit the most. This is because the cost is the imposition of one's will on everyone else, and that destroys the soul of the usurper and the life of the oppressed.

Socialism always fails on its own, but only after destroying almost everything in its train. It can also be conquered. Those are the options.

The free market, which you call "capitalism", is not called "free" because everyone is free to do whatever they want. Because what a lot of people want to do is steal. You'll know which ones by the hammer and sickle logo they draw on things.

No, the free market is called free because it is freed from coercion and violence.

And of course it's maintained by coercion, you British pub food connoisseur. If you don't coerce thieves not to steal, then they will steal everything you build faster than than you can build it.

You have to use violence to stop the violent, and coerce the coercers not to coerce.

And of course it's maintained by the superficial facade of liberal democracy, you Vogon poetry appreciator. The global average citizen is a mentally retarded third-world savage with less emotional self-control than my cat. If we let them have candidates that truly represented their agenda, then every useful thing humanity has built for the last twelve thousand years would be torn down in a week to buy them more party drugs. Followed by every woman being raped to death, and then uncomprehending starvation as they slowly and painfully learned that grocery stores don't spontaneously spawn food pickups, like in video games.

Jesus Christ, woman, you're talking about a species that evolved to live in hominid tribes of 100 apes, and throw rocks at zebras. In modern civilization, the so-called "average" person is so far out of his depth that the fish have lights on their noses.

And the more complex and sophisticated civilization gets, the more investments in the future that we need to protect, so that the retarded monkeys don't steal them all to buy more vodka and cigarettes.

Yeah, sure, sometimes capitalist systems end up defending property that someone's great-grandfather stole. But so fucking what? You think communism is gonna fix that? You think communism is gonna bring justice?

Communist nations can't afford justice. They can't even manage to feed themselves half the time. Get back to us when you've mastered the agricultural revolution, we've only been waiting since the beginning of recorded time.

The trick is to put the seeds in the dirt, guys.

It's certainly permissible to say there is rising friction between racial lines in the western world. But we're still afraid to suggest that white people may not be at fault.

It's remarkable how woman authors like this are never happy with anything. In this article, the author starts by stating how bad swiping is because it promotes a focus on visual attraction (as if that is somehow unimportant in relationships), but then when Bumble shifts to its apparently new AI matching system, the author is still not happy because that system apparently removes female agency.
The author offered no alternative solution. Instead, she blamed "brogrammers", and, to a lesser extent, Bumble.
Along the way, the author also implied that heterosexual men experience little or no abuse/harassment on dating apps. That is untrue. See the relevant data brief published at The Nuzzo Letter yesterday.
And, of course, she found a way to weave in a narrative about women doing more of the "invisible load" on dating apps.

Whenever I see news reports about migrant crime in Western Europe, it makes me wonder:

Aren't people living there like rabbits living in a bear's den?

They seem to be huddling in a corner, waiting for their turn to be attacked by teeth and claws. And if they resist even a little, they are attacked by wolves called the police.

How did things end up this way in societies that have elections and claim to value freedom?

From the outside, it almost looks as if ordinary white citizens have become second-class citizens.

Were elections really held?
Were they conducted properly?
