That long pause from the audience before the applause hits—pure “processing moment” 😂 Everyone just standing there silently doing mental math, trying to figure out what they just saw.
In this moment of attacks on voting rights, reproductive freedom, and equal protection under the law, we need leadership that understands both policy and the people it impacts. That is why we look forward to welcoming Vice President Kamala D. Harris, the 49th Vice President of the United States.
Throughout her career in public service, she has taken on issues of justice, equity, and accountability from the courtroom to the White House. As we mark 35 years of the National Action Network, this is about more than reflection. It is about direction.

Holy shit! Mike Johnson was caught on a hot mic admitting that Trump's SAVE Act is all about voter suppression —admitting that nearly 20% of all current registered voters would not be able to vote. This is what tyranny in fascist authoritarian countries looks like y'all. 😡😡😡👇
Daddy never taught that we should live in a colorblind world that ignores our differences. He called us to build a society where our differences are respected and where no one’s race, ethnicity, or religion is used against them.
Too often, his words from the “I Have a Dream” speech are taken out of context and used in ways that overlook the fullness of what he taught about justice and dignity. Dr. King spoke clearly about discrimination, economic inequality, and police brutality. Many of those issues are still with us today.
If we truly want to honor his legacy, we must understand the full scope of his message and commit ourselves to the discipline of nonviolence as a way forward.

Well done, good and faithful servant.
Well done."
You can see and hear her get choked up, and her voice breaks.
