What’s happening in Lagos Lagoon right now is not development, it’s ecosystem collapse in slow motion.

Dredging is destroying the seabed where fish breed. The water is turning too muddy for life to survive. Habitats are disappearing. Fishermen are losing their livelihoods.

And here’s the part people are ignoring:

The lagoon and wetlands are Lagos’ natural flood defense.

Destroy them, and you’re not just killing fish you’re exposing the entire city to disaster.

This is what happens when short-term profit overrides long-term thinking.

Sand today… flooding tomorrow.

If we keep going like this, we won’t just lose biodiversity we’ll lose communities.

We commend your prompt action in ordering the DPO of Satellite Town to bring the policemen involved in the recent viral clip to Abuja for disciplinary measures. However, to restore public trust, we respectfully urge that the disciplinary action be televised live on social media. Over the years, Nigerians have only heard about “audio disciplinary actions,” and this has done little to deter rogue officers, as they often return to the streets to continue unlawful behavior.

A transparent live broadcast will send a strong message that law enforcement is accountable and that criminal or abusive behavior within the police force will not be tolerated. Furthermore, all road stops and arbitrary searches in Amuwo Odofin and its environment must come to an immediate end. These practices have sown fear, disrupted daily life, and created a perception of lawlessness.

Real accountability requires visibility, and Nigerians deserve to see that justice is being done, not just heard about.
