I'm sorry but we didn't suffer through a decade of slander through Messi's International Career just for this level of revisionism to happen.

Despite EVERYTHING Messi had achieved and shown on the pitch for over 15 years, his entire legacy was pinned on whether he could replicate what Maradona did for Argentina.

He wasn't allowed to breathe or celebrate his La Ligas and Ballon D'Ors until he won an Intl Trophy. And when he won the Copa America, millions of Argentines booked flights to Qatar and broke records, because now Messi HAD to win the World Cup.

For his entire life he was called a bottler, a big-game fraud with lack of leadership skills. They broke his statues and burned his jerseys just because he couldn't win in the finals. We are not going to allow you to erase that from history just because he won the World Cup and took a fat shit on your narratives.

I understand Silva will be biased for his Brazilian mate, and I recognise that early on in Neymar's career he was expected to achieve what Pele did. But when people realized he wasn't the next Pele, people stopped expecting from him.

Messi didn't have that luxury. He was the best player in the world for almost 2 decades, and he was expected to win the World Cup.
