What we are witnessing is an outright abuse of power.
This administration is attacking critics and using fear as a weapon to silence anyone who would speak out. Media corporations — from television networks to newspapers — are capitulating to these threats.
We cannot dare to be silent or complacent in the face of this frontal assault on free speech.
We, the People, deserve better.
Stephen Colbert just took a flamethrower to Trump’s censorship circus.
While Jimmy Kimmel’s studio gets stripped bare under pressure from Trump’s FCC chair, Colbert claps back, animated and unapologetic.
Late-night resistance is alive. For now.
In 1934, Germany passed a law making it a crime to tell jokes or laugh at its leaders.
We can’t go down that road. Because what’s next is you can’t post what you want on social media. And you can’t text your friends anything that might upset the government.
That’s not the way it should be. The people shouldn’t be afraid of their government. The government should be afraid of the people!
Freedom is not about saying nice things or agreeing with those in power.
It is not flattering the President of the United States.
It is the right to express your point of view without government interference.
We must not allow anybody to take that freedom away from us.
Where has all the leadership gone? If not for university presidents, law firm managing partners, and corporate chief executives standing up against bullies, who then will step up for the first amendment? The “suspending indefinitely” of Jimmy Kimmel immediately after the Chairman of the FCC's aggressive yet hollow threatening of the Disney Company is yet another example of out-of-control intimidation. Maybe the Constitution should have said, “Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, except in one’s political or financial self-interest.” By-the-way, for the record, this ex-CEO finds Jimmy Kimmel very talented and funny.
Major protest right now in Chicago against President Trump’s threats to send in the National Guard and over worries of increased immigration enforcement.
🚨BREAKING: L.A. Mayor Karen Bass isn’t mincing words. She just accused ICE of sparking “outrage, chaos, fear, and terror” and slammed the door on federal troops with a clear message:
The National Guard is not welcome in her city.
BREAKING: New data reveals the money being spent on Trump’s military parade could feed every single homeless veteran in America for more than four months. What an insulting and wasteful use of resources.
What everything really comes down to in today’s America is that Trump is despicable, as are most (giving the benefit of the doubt here) of the people around him. The fact that so many people in public life feel constrained from saying that—especially journalists, the professionals who make their living (or are supposed to) by truth-telling, but rightly fear losing their livelihoods for telling that one simple truth—is how we’ve reached the sorry point we’ve reached as a nation today.
We need to stand up for @TerryMoran.
First they illegally deport citizens. Then they unleash ICE to terrorize communities. Now they’ve got the National Guard in L.A. to silence protestors.
This ain’t about law and order.
This is what authoritarianism looks like.
I saw this on IG and terror on this woman's face when she realizes she's being kidnapped as her 12yr-old daughter is left behind...her screams...this is domestic terrorism.
She was a Chilean tourist in New York. America can't host any international event. Visitors are not safe .
Even the LAPD is saying the protests are peaceful and managed (I.e. it is not an uncontrolled insurrection requiring the National Guard)
Do you know how fucking out of line you have to be, to be so authoritarian that the LAPD is siding with the protestors?!
Images of tanks pulling up for a huge PARADE that NO ONE asked for that will cost money & take military personnel away from more important things at a time when Americans are being told we don’t have money for food & healthcare seems wild to me. It’s possibly as wild as the party of States’ Rights supporting an out of control executive overbearingly & grossly attacking people in California.
AGAIN, what was so bad about intelligence, grace, competency, & compassion? #DontRussiaMyUSA
ATTN: If you’re a member of the National Guard or you work for ICE and you’re asked to violate the law or your oath, contact Whistleblower Aid to safely, securely, and legally blow the whistle. You can support Whistleblower Aid HERE: https://t.co/3qH3hh4Dqe
The Trump administration has announced that the FDA is considering making it harder to access medication abortion nationwide by imposing new restrictions. This new FDA review has nothing to do with science and everything to do with limiting abortion access.
So Elon Musk is out here calling Poland’s Foreign Minister a “small man” and telling him to “be quiet”—because nothing says strategic genius like insulting one of America’s closest allies.
Musk and Trump are speedrunning America’s fall from global leadership, all because their fragile egos can’t handle criticism.
Poland has been on the frontlines supporting Ukraine, bolstering NATO, and strengthening Western alliances—but sure, let’s pick fights with them instead.
This delusional billionaire superiority complex isn’t strength. It’s how empires collapse—thinking you’re untouchable while alienating the very people keeping you from sinking.
America’s greatest threat? It’s own arrogance.
The White House is setting conditions in the information space to justify a land invasion of Canada.
Someone needs to say it. The messaging is undeniable.
Unless the adults reenter the room, it will happen.

I apologize if this is triggering for anyone, but the United States has what amounts to an abusive spouse for a President. I spent most of my prosecutorial career prosecuting domestic violence cases, and I know so many have lived it (or are still living it). I’ve seen the type, and he’s it.
