It is an outrage that every Republican voted to remove @IlhanMN – a third term Muslim American woman – from the Foreign Affairs committee. Our job is to unite the American people, not divide them based on their race and religion. What a disgraceful day for the House.
While the cost of Halloween candy has surged more than 13.1% since last September, the Mars candy bar family became 44% richer during the pandemic increasing their wealth by $32.6 billion. The Mars family is now worth $106.8 billion.
Do you know what’s scary? Corporate greed.
Abolish the filibuster. Codify Roe. Expand the Supreme Court. Protect abortion rights by any means necessary.
We need all of the above. This is an emergency.
Today in America:
- the two richest people own more wealth than the bottom 40%
- the top 1% owns more wealth than the bottom 92%
That level of inequality is immoral and unsustainable.
Lol -- @BernieSanders suggests that the Senate put up a unanimous consent resolution to congratulate The Billionaire Class on creating the kind of the society they’ve long wanted.
Quite an ending by the prosecutor saying: You were told George Floyd died because his heart was too big. But, he died because Derek Chauvin’s heart was too small.

Yes. We must end our rigged tax code.
What Amazon workers in Alabama are doing takes real courage. They are standing up, not only for themselves and their families, but also for exploited workers all across the country who are sick and tired of corporate greed. I am very proud to stand with them.
I spoke for a few minutes yesterday with Amazon workers in Alabama. They told me about the heat, the absurd breaks, and the fact that if you are one minute late you lose a whole hour of pay. That is why they are standing with courage and taking on the richest man in the world.
While Senate Republicans told us we cannot afford to provide $1,400 direct payments to the working class, they had no problem introducing a bill this week to repeal the estate tax which would provide a $1.7 trillion tax break to the billionaire class. Total hypocrisy!
It’s unfortunate Mr. Bezos won’t join our hearing. While he’s become $78 billion richer during the pandemic, families are struggling to survive, so why is he spending a whole lot of money to stop workers from organizing a union at an Amazon warehouse in Alabama?
The American Rescue Plan more than doubles funding for community health centers, which means that more working families all over this country will be able to walk into a community health center and get the care they need. That will be transformative for so many.
One year ago, Breonna Taylor was murdered by police officers. It is a disgrace that we are still waiting on justice. The time is long overdue for us to combat systemic racism and a broken criminal justice system.
We cannot and will not have a moral society when so few have so much and so many have so little. That is the struggle we are engaged in. We must continue to fight for an economy that works for all of us.
