Today @FCDO & @bondngo marked International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Parliament. We heard powerful testimonials from participants with lived experience. Our strategy will continue to be underpinned by "nothing about us, without us." #IDPD2023
Today we mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
We are committed to removing barriers for all persons with disabilities in FCDO, and around the world. As @FCDOGovUK Ministerial Disability Champion, I will continue to take forward this important agenda.
Shocked and saddened to see that despite the planning & preventive measures, @Tbilisipride festival was cancelled due to safety risks for participants. I call on authorities to ensure that all who broke law & aggressively disrupted a peaceful gathering will be brought to justice.
Happy Pride in London! FCDO is marching and celebrating the progress on rights for LGBT+ people around the world. Hope everyone has a great day ♥️
I’m looking forward to my first Pride in Glasgow in a couple of weeks 🌈

Happy London Pride!🏳️⚧️🌈🏳️🌈
Since 2018 the UK has invested over £11m for the protection of LGBT+ rights across the Commonwealth. We will continue to fight against discrimination, prejudice and violence that many in the LGBT+ community face worldwide. #PrideMatters
In the build up to London Pride this weekend, we wanted to highlight some amazing work from our Embassies around the world. These images are from @UKinHyderabad, @UKinVenezuela and @ukinromania#PrideMatters 🏳️⚧️🌈🏳️🌈
Around the world, our 🇬🇧 embassy teams are:
🌈Highlighting the criminalisation, legal barriers & social stigma faced by LGBT+ people globally
🌈 Promoting the UK's values as a nation of #GreatLove
🌈 Standing up to those who aim to silence and rollback LGBT+ rights

What a way to round off COSP!
Loved hearing from these brilliant, passionate, insightful people from across the Commonwealth. They are the future and their voices should be heard
Thank you Commonwealth Disabled Peoples Forum #COSP16
Thanks to @UNICEF and #SierraLeone for hosting a #COSP16 side event on how we can make social protection systems more inclusive of people with disabilities. Check out the FCDO funded guidance note and take part in the consultation https://t.co/a8VEwLDf7C
Delighted that FCDO is investing in even more groundbreaking work from the brilliant @GDIHub and partners.
Assistive technology is such an important enabler for people with disabilities, yet often simply not available
