This will never end abortions — only safe legal abortions. We cannot return to the dark days of women dying from back-alley abortions.
We will fight this.

I'd honestly forgotten how gifted an orator Barack Obama is until witnessing the transformation of Peter Buttigieg from Mayor of a small town to professional Obama impersonator.
2nd time running. Won 1st time w/68%, increased voter turnout, supported new dems, voted more "dem" than they do
Now even as the incumbent, the @AlleghenyDems have refused again to endorse the only Black woman to EVER be elected from this region. Seat at the table where?
Today, the House is voting on my bill to repeal the 2002 Congressional Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) against Iraq. Trump has falsely claimed that the 2002 AUMF gives him the authorization to use military force in Iran.
The House must do our job to stop him.
Dr. King named three evils in America: the evil of racism, the evil of poverty, and the evil of militarism.
Racism and white supremacy still plague our nation, too many Americans remain trapped in poverty, and our country is caught in a cycle of violence and endless war.
While we have come far thanks to Dr. King and all those who sacrificed so much during the Civil Rights Movement, it is more apparent than ever that we still have a long way to go to achieve civil rights, freedom, and justice for all. #MLKDay

There are millions of people — especially children — across the country with toxic lead in their blood because of contaminated drinking water.
Trump is dangerous to our children and our health.

It is 2019. And African American women are still 3-4x more likely to die from childbirth than white women. It’s unacceptable. As a co-founder of the Black Maternal Health Caucus, I’m fighting to address systemic racism in our health industries.
.@RepBarbaraLee breaks down the racist history of the public charge rule dating back to the 1800’s when it was used to target unmarried women and Asian immigrants. #ProtectFamilies
Medicare for All isn’t just some progressive pipe dream. Our current system is expensive and frustrating for too many families. We won’t stop fighting until health care is a fundamental right for everyone — not just the wealthy.
On this day in 1960, the FDA approved birth control for the first time. In 2019, the GOP and Trump are hellbent on limiting access to fundamental healthcare for women. We cannot and will not go back to the dark days of back alley abortions.
And in the meantime, as we continue fighting for Medicare for All, a living wage, & more:
Unionize your workplace.
Demand a raise.
And don’t stop until you get one. 💪🏽
A $15 wage means workers can sleep more and have less medical issues; women can afford birth control and teen pregnancy rates decrease; families don't have to live in fear that a traffic ticket prevents them from affording dinner that night. Raising the minimum wage saves lives.
