Today is the international day of girls and women in science to recognise the contribution of women 👩💻 in the advances of science 👩💼 and technology 👩🔬

Today I gave a talk about the effect of ocean currents in the ontogeny of foraging strategies of sea turtles at the symposium Ecology Across Borders #EAB2021
This was the last one of my PhD, super happy with the outcome.
Today I presented for the first time the fourth chapter of my thesis at the Postgraduate Research Symposium @QM_SBCS, really happy to see so many brilliant talks.

I joined @QMUL in September 2017, on a scholarship from @Conacyt_MX to study a MSc in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. This MSc includes lots of fieldwork to develop skills such as capture and management of organisms for ecological research, https://t.co/LLGx5kUx1a #LabTakeOver
After one year working at home, today finally came back to university to do some demonstration with undergrad students. I felt so happy 😊 I really missed helping students to understand a bit better 👩🔬
Today I had a fantastic discussion about the stochasticity in the foraging movement of sea turtles with our collaborators from the school of mathematical science at QMUL and Skoltech.
Really excited with the possibilities of this collaboration!

This week we talk to Mexican ecopoet and ex-diplomat Homero Aridjis! Find out how a bright butterfly inspired him to act for nature here: https://t.co/ZK3tku8CJJ
Our database of #loggerheadturtle sightings in #CaboVerde goes back over ten years. While working on this database we come across many exciting things. Such as a turtle not seen in six years returning to nest less than 50m from her first nest in 2012! #Research#TurtleBase@QMUL
This season we are excited to be optimising an #affordable GPS option that will be key for #conservation efforts. After a successful deployment Monday night we are delighted to see the first tracks come in from the turtle “Akumal”. #Research#CapeVerde#LoggerheadSeaTurtle
@EizaguirreLab I showed this to a Mexican parasitologist and he told me that it is a female nematode. As you can see, she has lots of eggs in the belly. Unfortunately, the photo is not showing the characteristics that allow a deeper identification.
