A pond was always the plan. The ‘experts’ said it wouldn’t work. Well, guess what, when you just go rent the excavator and dig you prove them all wrong! Water at 4feet holding steady with strong clay in a drought no less. Thru the darn moon right now with happiness.

I think you forgot to mention that the reason he drives a 2014 Silverado is because the money he saved after funding the kids 529's went to his prepping habit he learned off YouTube. Half the guys who live around me in these burbs could supply a small army including food and water. It's kinda crazy.

Happened here last year in Indiana. It was insane. I have so many baby oaks in tubes right now thanks to it. If you are into growing trees wait until the fall, go grab them and plant them before the squirrels get them.
You are going to think I'm insane saying to plant seeds but we are on year 9 on our little farm and those seedlings we planted in year one are now just starting to grow. Years 1-3 they grow like 6 inches because they are growing roots. Years 5-10 is when the fun starts.

@RivasNeva87167 @KevinEspiritu Joanne, we went with a copper spray this year that cut it down by 50% at least. We clean everything out. On the spray rotation what do you use?

When people think of honeybees they think of peace and tranquility. Nothing can be further from the truth. The hive is constantly under attack. Caught this bee eating hornet today literally standing at the entrance and eating every bee that came out. The hive was completely locked up by just one big monster.
Me getting there when I did was just luck and FWIW that hornet is DOA courtesy of a big stick, I didn’t let them try to fight him off themselves.

Kids had to scare two bucks just starting to antler out last night out of the orchard. This is from 2023 but it was the same two brothers. Can’t wait to see how big these boys are this fall.
That year the one in the front got his left antler caught in a pasture fence but he looks good to go this year.

Walked the pasture today. 4 freaking Ticks in 10 minutes because we provide bed-down places for does and fawns. With all the good we try to do letting the pasture rise, If I had a choice (and didn't care) I'd take a nuke to it just for that one bug.
They literally bring something out in me I don't understand.

@KitchenGardensX We have cucumbers out our ears after putting in the beehive. Not kidding production went up 200%. Give me some recipes.

@KitchenGardensX We we are in the Midwest (Indiana). We plant in October, HEAVY fertilizer, cover with straw. They will grow then die back. Spring time HEAVY nitrogen fertilizer aka aged chicken manure or very heavy compost. Water relentlessly (they love it) and forget until July.

Of all the things we plant Garlic is by far and away my favorite. There is just something visceral about the harvesting and curing process.

Don’t make fun of the setup, the barn is under construction so you do what ya gotta do. AKA, Sorry the garage stinks like onion and Garlic honey.

@IBCking01 When using totes do you cut out the bottoms or do you just drill drain holes?
