We still know very little about the origins of the Boggers - who they are and where they came from but one thing is apparent they seem to adapt to the environment around them. Perhaps we will learn more about these strange creatures as we explore the OtherWorld...
Do you want your BAYC/MAYC to be famous?
We are beginning to put together a list of holders that are willing to provide proof of ownership and sign a release to let us use their 3D model in OtherWorld as an NPC. Maybe your ape will be partying in Swamps End or fishing on a dock in a remote pond looking for a rare catch or perhaps they will send voyagers on an epic quest to save the world...
We will do our best to run ideas by owners for what role their ape will play ahead of time as well.
If you are interested, please reach out in DMs for details.
Dev Update: We haven't shared much in the past few weeks because we started working on two complicated areas of the engine for the main gameplay loop - questing & interactions.
The engine now has support for accepting a quest and completing a quest plus interactions in game that can trigger quest objectives being complete. In the video you will see a speak interaction with an NPC but the design quickly is being expanded to include all types of interactions - picking up items in the world, defeating creatures, looting items from creatures, visiting locations, professions (mining, fishing, herbalism), etc.
Next up are the reward mechanics for in-game items, NFTs and XP (how you level up your combat crests and professions). This will include full loot tables with various item rarities which is going to be important for our entirely player driven economy.
We are very quickly approaching the core gameplay mechanics for a classic MMO - who is excited?
Some of the Boggers have been spending too much time with the Apes...
The Bogger collection will have new and unique traits but some of our favorites are the OGs. It is important to us to pay homage to the collection that really brought NFTs to the next level. @BoredApeYC@yugalabs
Who exactly are the Boggers? What role will they play in OtherWorld? What are they doing in Otherside?
It seems we have many more questions than answers...
Let us know your theories in the comments.
Dev Update: In under a week, the team went from having statically placed target dummies for combat testing to a full game entity system with dynamic creature spawning and networked movement/animations. This allows the engine to build worlds full of NPCs, creatures, profession nodes (mining, fishing, herbalism), quest objects, etc. - all without a single line of code.
The team has already begun work on the aggro system so hopefully in next week's update we will have full PvE combat on display.
It seems our founder @hack1ge couldn't stay quiet for too long. The leaks for OtherWorld gameplay, lore and art have started but you can only find it on the studios Discord so hop on in and join the community to see what they are cooking up on @OthersideMeta.

I couldn't stay retired it seems - I am excited to announce my new game studio that will be building on @OthersideMeta.
For those that know me, you know what's coming and for those that don't buckle up and enjoy the ride - its going to be something special.
We are doing a soft launch since its early but I am looking to build a dedicated community of gamers to help us on our journey while we build OtherWorld.
