@ChaseMadar Funny, am listening to the lastest The Cradle news roundup out of Lebanon and logged on to ask if you follow them. I’ve found they offer some invaluable regional clarity during this insanity https://t.co/AlxadqFf1v
@ChaseMadar lol the applause — I’ve always always disliked this man. There was a moment in the 90s were some liberals and leftists were ‘appreciating his directness’ so annoying
@drfarls@ChaseMadar its true this MOU wasn’t negotiated by diplomats (on US side) but also true an MOU isn’t an end of the war because it’s a declaration of intent with a ceasefire, being touted by Western media as an ‘end’. Sanctions and blockades are acts of war, so the ‘war’ is ongoing
@bungarsargon And the remarkable ability for those few mines to hit targets on dry land. Maybe they’re Land Shark Mines? Pesky, pesky mines… https://t.co/9fA0ymQpRP
@ChaseMadar However the defeat might be better understood as ongoing energy crisis worsens & global strategic reserves fall to operational zero in the gap between the MOU (if Israel doesn’t succeed in scuttling it) and the estimated 4-12 months it will take to resume ‘normal’ energy flow
@ChaseMadar the damage to the zionist entity and it’s power in the US is too early to access though what’s happening in Lebanon and the settler colonies will give clues. I think recognition of the US defeat would be a useful thing for more US-ian’s to grasp, but so far seems largely absent
@ChaseMadar 3, this is arguably the soundest and quickest defeat of US military in modern times, which will be more evident when and if the total destruction to US bases & assets is made public, incuding real numbers for deaths/injuries of US military personnel.
@ChaseMadar Second, concessions to Iran a defeat for hegemony & neoliberal project, as any freeing up of frozen assets & removal of sanctions makes both those now-popular US weapons less effective elsewhere in the future. Similar, the erasure of most of US military bases in the region
@ChaseMadar my 2 cents in reverse order: there was no strategic goal beyond ‘regime change’ and continued destabilization to help Isreal. DT was told/believed the war would be over in 2-3 days based on the comments at the start of Round Two - from that on, the only GOP goal was “own goal”
@ChaseMadar Looks like 2% abstained from the vote — how the hell does someone STILL NOT HAVE CONVICTION after a 17-yr campaign… the 2% who abstained. That’s who should resign 😀
It took 17 years of organizing, but the Park Slope Food Coop's membership has approved a boycott of all Israeli products. There were 4,572 yes votes, or a 67% majority in favor of a boycott. It's another milestone in liberal America's rupture with Israel.
@ChaseMadar Honestly, never experienced such extreme division in the media — even sources like Al Jazeera showing bias of their home country. I’ve been watching the daily reports from The Cradle & Janta Ka Reporter but that’s to get biased news from the coalition.
@AdamSinger@deedydas So true. When every individual starts and runs their own company, we’ll have categorically done away with shiftless employees, and surveillance software will have no use. Win/win
@aaronjmate This post seems like good context. If accurate, these images that show the smoke from the other side of the tower make it look like the tower is on fire, when it’s not. Great propaganda trick, the smoke of smoke and mirrors
@JohnMcD51511070@MissionArtist The heartbreaking truth is that thanks to an unnecessary war by pushing post cold-war NATO expansion despite years and years of warnings, there are now far fewer Ukrainians of any political persuasion in the Ukraine due to emigration, dislocation, and casualty rates.
