@mandalawyerin Obviously you can't be both a communist and a fascist any more than you can be a devoted Catholic and Protestant at the same time.

But in both cases they're doctrinally similar having come from the same base ideology

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@mandalawyerin You're claiming Marxists like Mussolini completely inverted their ideology to adopt something totally different?

Such obvious nonsense!

They took socialism and added additional components just like many other schismatic groups gace throughout human history.

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@avidseries "outlawed all (actual) socialist parties and organizations"

This is a stupid take.

In reality the Nazi's operated like many other socialist states have operated once in power... By persecuting any other groups that might challange them including ideologically close ones

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@avidseries "but the party maintained a more direct role in some regulatory aspects"

Go read about Junkers or Reichswerke Hermann Göring

Characterising Nazi policy towards industry as just 'taking a more direct role in some regulatory aspects' is either incredibly disengenious or ignorant

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@avidseries Absolute nonsense.

Just to deal with your first point. The Nazi's, just like the USSR and CCP, instituted state labour unions and cracked down on any attenpts by workers to independently organise.

There was no free market in reality

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@2muchOversteer @Lobstirr @Paulie_Cashews One faction of socialists persecutes another faction of socialists not at all shocker

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@leftistSTEMguy1 @CapitalismMag And you're not even describing the workers 'owning' the means of production in that post anyway.

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@leftistSTEMguy1 @CapitalismMag Meaningless soundbites

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@leftistSTEMguy1 @CapitalismMag The idiot here is you.

It's not possible for the 'workers', in practice, to own the means of production in a post industrial revolution state.

You're confusing theory with fact, it always ends up controlled by the ruling party

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@CliveWismayer @Riggs_martin 'cut wages'

Like other socialists did....

https://t.co/n3m9r7b086

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@Riggs_martin @CliveWismayer State labour orgs only... Just like the USSR and CCP...

Sorry what was your point again?

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@trotskydc

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@moodyoldblue @IsntLifeTragic @docrussjackson *rich

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@moodyoldblue @IsntLifeTragic @docrussjackson How much did socialist Hugo Chavez's daughter end up being worth?

The idea that it can't have been socialism if some people become extremely rucg out of it is laughably inept.

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@moodyoldblue @docrussjackson @IsntLifeTragic Why do you think the USSR and CCP plans priorotised heavy industries like steel over consumer goods to improve the quality of life for the 'workers'?

Socialism, being a totalitarian ideology, of course uses its command of the economy for military ends.

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@docrussjackson @IsntLifeTragic @moodyoldblue "In the USSR there were no owners"

Not really correct. The Bolsheviks gave total state control a go and it was a total disaster and so they re introduced some private enterprise (as long as it was in line with the parties aims). The fascists learnt the lesson from their failure

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@moodyoldblue @IsntLifeTragic @docrussjackson

[Robert Mawdsley @Perusinimon]

@canthavepudding "Banned trade unions" - Yes state labour orgs only, like the USSR and CCP

"Arrested and killed communists and social democrats" - like the USSR and CCP

'And sent them to l concentration camps' - like the USSR and CCP

Spot a pattern yet?
