This is incredibly powerful from Alexandra Parmar-Yee, calling on the government to legislate to protect trans people’s rights, privacy and inclusion:

“The government’s own equality impact assessment admits that the impact on all trans people will likely be wide-ranging and negative, and notes trans women could face “disproportionate risk of violence and sexual assault” if we are left only with access to men’s services. The document also notes that “women who are considered masculine may face greater scrutiny” and warns of adverse impacts on disabled people. It will be more than just the trans community who suffer under a system that encourages suspicion of people’s gender based on “physique or physical appearance”, to quote the guidance itself.

Trans people will be left with a choice between researching toilet provision every time we go out or living our lives as we always have – only now without the protection of the law. In reality, our worlds will get smaller, and so many trans people who enrich our communities will self-exclude, leaving everyone worse off.”

That’s not enough, because nothing will ever be enough.

Here they’re seeking to public humiliate - and turn into a target - an employee doing his job.

The complaint?

That there are self-enclosed changing rooms.

She claims that this forces women and girls to change in front of men, which is an insane lie.

Eventually this insanity will fall apart, because it is insanity.

But a cult has been given impunity by our media and political elites, and it will continue to spiral out of control like this.

En avril 1975, lors de la 47e cérémonie des Oscars, Ingrid Bergman reçoit la statuette de la meilleure actrice dans un second rôle, pour son rôle dans Le Crime de l’Orient-Express de Sidney Lumet. Contre toute attente, elle exprime son admiration pour Valentina Cortese, également nommée pour la récompense, pour son rôle dans La Nuit américaine de François Truffaut. Elle déclare que toutes les actrices ont un jour oublié leur texte où se sont trompées de porte, et que Valentina Cortese l’a merveilleusement joué.
