I’m old enough to remember a time when NPHET assured the government that four weeks of a Level 5 would be “enough”.
We’re in week six now. And they say pubs and restaurants should be closed for at least 10 weeks.
@DeasyRosscoe@Flynner004@IrishTimes I don’t suggest there’ll be no impact on rent. “Though rents will likely take a hit, Dublin continues to be a city in which office investors want a piece of the pie” - that’s a quote from the piece.
@deshocks At the time they did say 150 “technical jobs”. Not sure exactly what they mean by that and whether it includes the support staff that you mention. But in either case it would have been a huge win for Athenry
@deshocks Apple was to employ 150 at its centre in Athenry. And, to be fair to them on the electricity point, their data centres in Denmark (as with all of their data centres) run on renewables. It’s worth noting too that that was the plan for Athenry.
@Pidge I don’t doubt that and the sentiment of punters appears to speak to the success of it. But I’d be surprised is there was any significant turnover gain/loss simple by pedestrianising streets.
@obrien_jonathan@RMcGreevy1301 It’s worth noting that she actually had three. The fact she failed at the Seanad suggests her party colleagues weren’t all that keen on her
Breaking: Apple and Ireland have won their appeal against the European Commission's €13.1 billion ruling:
The General Court of the European Union annuls the decision taken by the
Commission regarding the Irish tax rulings in favour of Apple
An interesting detail here as Bewley's and Johnny Ronan enter into mediation over its historic Grafton Street cafe.
Johnny Ronan offered Bewley’s the option to buy Grafton Street building https://t.co/hlk5xWqSZu
