State of Emergency is trending because Nigerians saying Enough is Enough are wondering why Pres. Tinubu is yet to declare an SOE in the North and Kwara despite the uncontrollable chaos.

But he was quick to declare SOE in a Rivers State that had no insecurity, just political tension between Nyesom Wike and defaulting protege, Sim Fubara.

With the military’s failing efforts to end the wanton killings in North Central, North East North West, Kwara.

Scores were kidnapped in a CAC church in Kwara yesterday. On Monday 25 girls were kidnapped from a school in Kebbi. On Friday, a Brigadier General was ambushed, hunted and executed by ISWAP.

New reports today suggest the soldiers who mobilized to rescue the 25 kidnapped girls in Kebbi were ambushed, again.

Nigerians perceive a lack of urgency, and feel State of Emergency should be declared in these regions, just how Goodluck Jonathan did in 2013.

In 2013, President Goodluck Jonathan declared state of emergency in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno States over Boko Haram insurgence, but he didn’t suspend democratic structures.

Nigerians believe the events happening in Kebbi and Kwara is suitable for a SOE. But since there is no political interest in the state, it won’t be triggered by the President.

March 18th 2025, SOE was declared in Rivers State after a series of distant blasts, alleged to be pipelines.

FG cited the Governor’s inability to maintain peace and order in the state.

— Even though there weren’t disorderliness in the state. A Military Administrator who is also an old ally of Wike, Ibok Ibas was appointed till 18th September.

After his hand over, Ibok reportedly refused to give account of expenses during his six months reign.
