Last nights result did us a huge favour with Geelong losing and us playing them next week at home. We could be a game from 4th with a game in hand, that game is Port when Geelong have the bye. Some nice things happening around us.
@ChrisFitzMelb I see fussy 1st home buyers and THAT is what’s at the heart of the issue. You reckon my first home was a 3BR house in a nice suburb? I went way outside where I usually lived, to buy what I could afford.
Such an accurate post. We never had take away regularly. Certainly didn’t buy a jumbo latte with almond milk and a shot of caramel everyday, or wake up Sunday and say “let’s go out for breakfast”Boomers and Gen X should push back on a lot of this kind of rubbish.
This is completely untrue. Growing up working-class in the late 80s and 90s, my parents never bought it for us. The only times I ever set foot in a McDonald’s were for someone else’s birthday party.
The housing market is undeniably broken, but at the same time, the number of luxuries this generation now considers basic necessities is on another level entirely.
@ChrisFitzMelb A couple each earning 70k per year + first homeowners 15k + 5k savings = 20% deposit on a 500k property with repayments around 700 per week. Income around 2k a week. I’m not sure how that’s not achievable?
@ChrisFitzMelb Sooking about blaming a loose concept like intergenerational inequality, and spending $$ on latte’s as a result is a pretty wild deflection. The property market can be cracked with a lowering of expectations, some hard work and budgeting.
@senzu_bean Once a fortnight my grandpa picked me up from school and took me home to theirs. Every time my grandma would have a Kitchener Bun sitting in the driveway window sill so I’d see it driving in. Grandma’s were the best.
@senzu_bean Yep - huge night out once a month was the fish and chip shop, either a chiko roll or a piece of Tommy Ruff. Twice a year we went to the Silver Dragon Chinese place in Rundle Street for fried rice. Wild times.
Some handy results this weekend. We go to the bye 1 game out of 6th, 11 to go, only 2 away against sides higher than us on the ladder. We’ve been pretty banged up so 2 weeks rest (3 for RT) is very handy to reset. Bit to go yet.
@bosslevel86 I’m going to be fair to Hamish here, Smith was his first choice and we tried to trade up. No deal. I’m more annoyed that having missed Smith he then royally screwed up overlooking Langford
If only we could find a midfielder that could put up stats like… hmmm I don’t know… say - 31 disposals, 7 clearances, 6 score involvements, 7 inside 50s, 650 metres gained and a goal. Imagine having a mid like that? Oh wait… they were Rachele’s numbers v Geelong 🤔
This is the Riley Thilthorpe hit on Lloyd Meek. One week for a punch to the body. Will miss against Geelong after the bye unless he contests it @FOXFOOTY
Need a Crows break so watching the new Kylie Minogue doco on Netflix:
Plays a character called Charlene
Rocked it with Michael Hutchence and Nick Cave.
Sang for our troops in Timor
100% rolled gold Aussie.
Love her.
Whatever the result tonight, it’s an absolute disgrace that a professional league schedule one of the marquee games of the round at this polar shithole. The game as a spectacle is ruined.
