@nynjpaweather Ocean Temps in Greenland and Eastern Canada are way above normal similar to 2009-2010. That does strengthen the case for a -NAO but Super El Niño with +QBO and -PDO probably will keep the cold towards the central US.

@BigJoeBastardi 2009-2010 was indeed milder than normal. Great season for big wave chasing on the South shore of MA! Will be one this year. Question is can we get enough cold air for blizzards? Otherwise it’ll be cutters or coast huggers.

@WorldClimateSvc -PDO with a positive PMM will give the west a major soaking! SSTs in the North Atlantic and eastern Canada favor a lot of North Atlantic blocking but thats NOT favorable for sustained cold. East coast storms will be frequent but more wet than white!
