It almost feels as though King Charles III is actively self-sabotaging the monarchy.

I struggle to understand it any other way.

Why would he so willingly move away from the foundations that Queen Elizabeth II spent more than 70 years protecting and preserving?

She understood something fundamental: the monarchy survives because it stands for continuity, duty, tradition, and service not because it chases modern trends or tries to reinvent itself to please the mood of the day.

That was her legacy. That was her strength.

So why depart so dramatically from that model?

The more the monarchy drifts from what made it respected, the more it risks weakening the very institution it is supposed to protect.

And that raises a deeply uncomfortable question:
