Abid Malhi and Shafqat Ali have had their final appeal rejected and will be hanged after a court upheld their death sentences.
The pair attacked a French-Pakistani woman on 9 September 2020 after her car ran out of fuel on the Sialkot-Lahore Motorway near Lahore, Pakistan.
She remained inside the locked vehicle with her three terrified children when the men smashed a window, dragged her out at gunpoint and gang-raped her on the roadside in full view of the kids.
They then stole her cash, jewellery and bank cards before fleeing.
The woman gave police detailed descriptions, mobile phone data tracked the suspects, DNA from the scene matched both men, and one of them confessed before a magistrate.
They were convicted in March 2021 of gang rape, kidnapping, robbery and terrorism offences.
Their appeals were finally dismissed this week, clearing the way for execution.
California is going to take 37 days to count 9 million mail in ballots with 0 of the voters showing ID.
