At the official opening ceremony of the 8th National Youth Games in Asaba 2024, the president was represented by the Hon. Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh. I eagerly anticipate a competitive spirit in the days ahead. It’s a source of joy and pride to host this event for the second consecutive year, as Delta State is well-known for its sports culture in Nigeria.

I recommended that the age limit for the National Youth Games should revert to the original upper limit of U-17, as against the current U-15, I am glad the president is also in agreement with my recommendation.

Congratulations to all the athletes for their participation and I wish them success in the games. Let the games begin!
