@halkyardo Maybe it's not actually quartz clocked? Many line-powered devices use the AC line frequency instead. Not saying it doesn't have quartz in there, but that it might be using it for something else (microcontroller, etc.) and not the actual time.

@Betavulgaris6 @MicrochipMakes I think the V is new 3.3V parts (which is the datasheet you are looking at). The ATF150xAS parts you mention are the 5V parts, though, they do have separate pins for Core and IO pwr. Technically, the pins for VccIO aren't documented for the ATF1502:Core and IO is same per sheet
