🚨 There’s a SACCO bill in Parliament today, and most Kenyans don’t even know what’s coming.

Quietly... with almost no public attention…
A system is being introduced that will centralize SACCO money, and Govt will now have a massive say in it.

Think of it as a “Super SACCO” for all SACCOs.

It will:
- Hold funds from different SACCOs
- Manage liquidity
- Run payments
- Lend to SACCOs
- Invest your money

Sounds safe? Here’s the reality:
❗ SACCOs could lose some operational independence
❗ Oversight becomes much heavier (via Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority)
❗ Leaders must meet “fit & proper” approval
❗ Strict reporting & constant supervision

And yes, this could mean slower access to your money in some situations.
Now the part they won’t emphasize:

Your savings are only protected up to KSh 100,000

If a SACCO collapses?
Anything above that = your risk.

Even worse:

⚠️ Payouts are NOT immediate
⚠️ Must be approved & gazetted first
⚠️ You could wait while your money is locked

Why centralize SACCO money...

KRA has gained another weapon.

One that will make serial nil return filers hesitate before clicking that NIL button.

Last month, this tax dispute left many ears tingling.

There is a restaurant called Avery Lounge.

I have no clue how they mastered it, but they cook the finest fish in Utawala.

Just next to Banta. My friend Kasimu recently took me there.

The place also offers the most spectacular rooftop view of Embakasi.

But there was one small problem.

- Despite all that poshness, Avery Lounge kept filing nil tax returns.

KRA became curious.

So they sent their spies.

The spies returned with a disturbing report:

- Bosi, the place is full. People are eating life like tomorrow has been cancelled.

KRA was enraged.

- How could such a big restaurant keep declaring zero income?

So KRA went straight for their bank accounts.

And what did they find?

- Millions flowing in.

At that point KRA lost its remaining patience.

They demanded for:

- financial statements
- purchase & expense records
- explanations for the deposits

But Avery provided none of them.

KRA became even more dramatic.

- They totaled all the bank deposits for the year.

- Baptized them as income.

- Then applied 30% income tax on the entire amount.

And sent Avery a tax demand of ksh 93 million.

Avery ran to court.

- They argued that some of the deposits were loans.
- And that KRA had not factored in real expenditures like purchases & Wages

But there was a small problem.

- They had no loan agreements.
- No documentation for expenses.
- Nothing.

The court looked at the situation and said:

- Since the taxpayer refused to provide records, KRA had no choice but to treat the bank deposits as income.

And with that, the court told Avery:

- Pay the 93 million tax bill.

Case closed.

So what is the lesson here for you?

If you have money flowing through your bank accounts, and you cannot explain the source,

KRA will simply decide:

- All deposits = income.
- And tax those deposits.

Therefore:

- Be careful with nil returns.
- Keep records. In tax matters, records are king.

Dubai Palm Jumeirah is on fire tonight. Literally!

The most expensive man-made luxury island ever constructed, visible from space, built grain of sand by grain of sand over fifteen years at a cost of twelve billion dollars, has smoke rising from its luxury hotels because Iranian ordnance detonated in its airspace.

Footage circulating from multiple accounts shows fires near the Fairmont The Palm. Explosions reported above the Atlantis The Royal. OSINT accounts confirm impacts at a five-star property on the island. Whether direct missile strike or falling intercept debris is still unverified. It does not matter. The Palm is burning on camera and the footage has already been seen by every high-net-worth individual who owns property there, every Russian oligarch who parked capital in a waterfront villa, every Indian billionaire who bought a penthouse as a safe haven, every European family office that allocated to Dubai real estate because geography plus security equaled yield.

That equation died tonight.

Now understand who built Palm Jumeirah and what they are watching. The ruling families of the UAE did not build Dubai as a vanity project. They built it as a post-oil survival strategy. Every tower, every artificial island, every free zone is a calculated bet that when the hydrocarbons run out, connectivity and capital would sustain a nation. Palm Jumeirah is not a resort. It is the physical manifestation of a fifty-year economic thesis. And the mullahs in Tehran just set it on fire.

The Emirati Sheikhs do not operate on Western timelines. They do not hold press conferences. They do not tweet threats. POTUS Donald Trump ordered the largest American military operation since the invasion of Iraq from the dining room of his private golf club in Palm Beach, Florida.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Dan Caine flew to Mar-a-Lago to oversee the strikes in person. Not the Pentagon. Not the Situation Room. A secure room in a resort where members pay 200,000 dollars for initiation. The same building where Trump ordered the Soleimani strike in January 2020. The same building where he authorized the Syria strikes over dinner with Xi Jinping in 2017. The man has now launched military operations against three sovereign nations from the same zip code where he plays golf on Sundays.

And what was executed from that room may have decapitated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Reuters reports several senior IRGC commanders killed. Israeli officials assess IRGC Ground Forces Commander General Mohammad Pakpour is dead. Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh reported killed. Multiple sources on X claim Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council and Khamenei’s closest strategic adviser, was struck. None confirmed by Iranian state media. Iran reports 51 dead and names zero military officials.

That silence is the confirmation.

When Iran loses civilians it broadcasts the bodies within minutes. When Iran loses generals it goes quiet and counts who answers the phone. After Operation Red Wedding in June 2025, Iran denied losing 30 generals for 72 hours before the funerals made silence impossible. The same pattern is emerging now. No IRGC statements from named commanders. No proof-of-life footage. No defiant broadcast from Pakpour or Nasirzadeh. Just a regime that launched retaliatory missiles at six countries and then stopped talking about who is still alive to give the next order.

The strikes hit at 8:15 a.m. Tehran time. Daylight. Every prior Israeli strike came at night. Iran’s entire defensive posture was calibrated for darkness. On September 2, 1955, at Illinois Central Station, a wooden casket was unloaded from a freight train coming north from Mississippi. It was large. Heavy. Reinforced with boards. Nailed shut. Marked with official state seals. The smell came first—mud, water, death—before anyone said a word.

Inside was Emmett Till.
Fourteen years old.
A Black child born into a country that had never decided whether Black children deserved protection.

Two weeks earlier, Emmett had left Chicago smiling, joking, carrying a suitcase and his mother’s warnings. His mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, had raised him in the North, where segregation wore a quieter face. She tried to prepare him anyway.

“Be careful down there.
The South is different.
Be humble.
Say ‘yes, sir’ and ‘no, ma’am.’
Don’t look white people in the eyes.”

These were not lessons of childhood. They were lessons of survival—passed down through generations of Black families since slavery, Reconstruction, Jim Crow. Warnings inherited, not chosen.

Emmett promised he would be careful. He didn’t fully understand what that meant. No fourteen-year-old ever could.

Now he was back in Chicago in a box Mississippi authorities wanted buried quickly, quietly, unseen. No funeral. No viewing. No witnesses. The same strategy America had used for centuries: erase the evidence and move on.

Officials told her it was better not to. The funeral director hesitated. Everyone in the room knew what was inside. They believed mercy meant silence.

They believed the river would swallow the truth. But Black history has always flowed back to the surface.

Emmett was identified only by a ring on his finger, engraved with his father’s initials—proof that even in death, lineage remains.

Mamie Till-Mobley stood over what no mother should ever have to see. And in that moment, she made a decision that would alter the course of American history.

She could have closed the casket.
She could have protected her son’s image. She could have chosen private grief.

Instead, she chose collective memory.

“Let the people see what they did to my son.”

At Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ, the funeral lasted four days. The casket remained open. No makeup. No reconstruction. No softening of the truth. Just a pane of glass between America and its own reflection.
