Sammy boy. You have been a bundle of joy and a full-hearted expression of life from the moment you came dashing into our lives. 16 years of licks, belly flops, grunts, cursing and surprises. It is impossible to say what goofy magic you possess, but you made us laugh and find playful moments even during some of the hardest moments of our lives. Our last year has been especially precious. This has been the adventure of a lifetime to travel the world together with you!

It has been hard to watch your health and exuberance slow down and fade away these last months, but your life and spirit are always with us. Our hearts are full with all of these memories. We will miss you, and thank you so much for this incredible journey together.

Of these Balkan countries, Montenegro has been one of our favorites. We stayed there for a month and really connected with geography of the place. The bay of Kotor is in my top list of epic drives.

We also were able to stay next door to some new traveling friends. Then some folks from back home come out and visit for a week as well. So having new and old friends be a part of the experience makes it special.

Each country has very unique and beautiful places, so it has been quite the journey! Organizing some highlights to post in a few threads here. Hopefully soon :)
