@wesmcadams I understand & respect your thoughts, but what holds me back from jumping to the side of complete pacifism (or at least teaching it as binding) is the lack of a clear command for Christians to abandon their military occupations. I'm thinking specifically of Cornelius.

While it is unlikely that Jesus was born on December 25, I do know beyond a doubt that He was born. And while the conception was miraculous, there is no indication that the birth was anything different from every other delivery throughout history.

The Word became flesh with all the raw unpleasantries that come along with it.

As you remember the birth of Jesus while you enjoy this time with your family and friends, I hope you'll remember that He was born for more than being represented as a cute prop in a nativity scene.

If it doesn't meet His definition it is not marriage. You can call it a civil union, partnership, legally binding companionship, or whatever else you please, but it is not and never will be marriage if it isn't between a man and a woman.
