@becausejoanna @tbouthillet I understand chest pain, abd pain, all the main ones. We all should. But the medication refill, stubbed toe, 3 day sinus infection previously diagnosed by a doctor, finger cut requiring nothing but a bandaid. Come on, it’s not that hard.

@becausejoanna @tbouthillet Jesus. I said the easy ones. It’s not that hard. We had a mom call once. Her son had Covid. Her other son did not, no symptoms, but wanted him transported incase he did have Covid. You can’t differentiate that ?

@BjTriton @tbouthillet I think we are adequately trained. That’s my point. The super “easy” ones like the 3 day sinus infection previously diagnosed by a doc that isn’t getting better. Probably doesn’t need ER and we should be able to decipher that. Atleast add our medical opinion.

@lou_nautic Yeah I think we’re going in circles. That’s exactly my point lol. That should be a part of our job when necessary. We are professional healthcare providers. The super “easy” common problems that don’t need the ER, shouldn’t be transported

@lou_nautic Clearly this shouldn’t apply to chest pain, abd pain, things that can’t be done. A cut finger requiring no stitches, someone needing medications refilled, the sinus infection previously diagnosed etc. if medics can’t give an “opinion” on those, they probably shouldn’t be medics

@lou_nautic Exactly my point. There’s so many runs this is applicable in. However the first that came to mind. Sinus infection diagnosed by a doctor not getting better, probably doesn’t require 3 transports to an overloaded ER for them to tell patient the same thing.

@lou_nautic Come on man. What kind of take is that. It’s a healthcare system that we are a part of. Dropping off people who shouldn’t be in the ER and saying “well ain’t our problem” is a weird take but to each their own. I just think we can do better. That’s all

@lou_nautic Obviously. When someone’s calling us to help them with a medical condition or problem, I would hope that the only opinion you’re giving is medical lol. And that’s kind of what I’m saying, we should be able to give it. Sinus infections aren’t for the ER etc.

@lou_nautic Not sure how many times we’ve been called and they literally said “do you think I should go” that would be our opinion if I’m not mistaken
